There's a new newspaper article in the news section on her site....about Stars on Ice, etc. INTERESTING....about no social life...I think Emily is like the CIA--secretive. That's her right but I doubt she has no social life...or only with her family. She's got friends and probably a boyfriend (or two). And I wonder what the latest is w/ Sarah. ...hey it worked!! and she Skates this Week for STARS on ICE... She oughta get between $20,000 and $35,000.00 or her appearance. I didn't say that's what she'll get [maybe 10 or 15 grand?] but she is tops and oughta get a big appearance fee. I know some skaters and athletes in the past can command big dinero... From whenever I hear her on TV, she doesn't seem like she'd cheat on any guy, so I don't think she would have two boyfriends. She only has one--me. lol. |

LOL, I love how they said silver medal, and then also said "(second place)", for the benefit of maybe 1/1000 people that wouldn't know.
 As for - $30000?? She isn't getting anywhere NEAR that kind of money. If only! The shows are rarely sold out, and there are a lot of skaters in the show, not to mention the venue's cut, and all the other overhead. Let's use my local arena, Mellon Arena, as a reference. Seating capacity is 16,882 for ice skating. Ticket prices range from $23.75 - $104.75. The majority of the seats are the cheaper seats, so let's say the average ticket holder pays $45. Let's say the venue is 1/2 full (It was NOT that full when I went last year.) And let's say the venue only takes 10% (??), making the rest on concessions. For Stars on Ice, that would be a gross revenue of about $342,000. Before you could divide that up, There's all kinds of other overhead, like the "management", announcers, planners, costumes, advertising, equipment, insurance, taxes, etc etc etc etc. Probably more varied expenses than I can even imagine. Yeah, it's all just a wild estimate. But I doubt any one skater makes a 5-digit figure for any show. Still, theoretically she could pull in $5000 per show, or possibly a good bit more. It would be interesting to know exactly what they make. I'm sure she would be on the highest pay level of the skaters there, if there is such a thing. I hope she makes some nice money, I just hope it doesn't distract her from Worlds, or get her injured... P.S.: Yes, I don't think she is the cheating type at all. BUT, she seems very sweet and trusting, and given the right guy to come along and manipulate her, it could probably happen... ehhhhhh! I don't want to think that way about my skaters. I'm glad she keeps things secret.

I was interested in trying to find out, so here's someone's info I just found on the net, about COI/SOI: "According to a recent People magazine article it stated that S/P (Sale/Peltier) were asking $20,000 per show and were turned down. They then brought the price down to $14,000 per show but were turned down again as the COI tour was already in progress and it felt the majority of tickets were purchased so adding them that late wouldn't help sell tickets. It is my understanding standing that only Michelle, Tara and Botanio could command a $20,000 per night price tag from COI." So I think my estimate could be pretty decent.  Which makes me wonder - If they list Tara (Lipinski, I have to imagine) among the top earners, then presumably, Sarah Hughes could have really "cashed in", being the 2002 OGM. Surprising she didn't delay her college stuff a couple years to bring that kind of money in? I guess the Hughes family really isn't "needy"! |

I don't think she has a serious boyfriend so I figure she may have someone or two she's working on...I AGREE--I don't think Emily would cheat on a boyfriend in any way... BTW I just saw in a Sports Illustrated (not the Swim issue) that Belbin and Evan L. are a COUPLE!! I hadn't heard that before and SI reported that.... |

...actually Sarah did CASH in...her SOI tour paid her well over a million dollars. That was reported in various sources. And that was just for her SOI tour. Apart from that, she did lots of other endorsements, ads, was paid to be a broadcaster for NBC at the Summer Games, then she did commentary for MSNBC and NBC for the Winter games last year, plus she had her "Sarah and Friends" special and all that. I don't think SH has any $$ worries. I wonder if Emily ever asks Sarah--"Sarah could I borrow say $30 grand--I saw a nice car I'd love to buy..." ???????????? ...Actually I think Emily wants to make her own bucks and that is partly why she is so competitive and so driven. Sarah is BEAUTIFUL in her own right and in some ways she's hotter than little sister. What a pair of angels. That makes me wanna be a Mormon and marry both...LOL!! That would be the luckiest guy on earth! I think that EH has gotta be a $10 Grand or more. But skating has sadly suffered a downturn in attendance, so you may be right. |
