They're okay I still like the Nagano Olympic medals the best. I'm not as excited for these Olympics because I don't really watch the summer games that much. Not as into those sports. |

while I dont have a full list of gymnasts who will be going - Nastia Luikin is as close to a lock as being a team member already since shes is already a national and world champion
and I expect she'll come back with at least 1 gold
http://www.usoc.org/26_36051.htm Only 497 days left to go until the next summer olympic games http://en.beijing2008.cn/ |

The problem with that jade is that there's TOO MUCH of it, and also, I can't comprehend the color scheme. Gold and ... milky white? Silver and puke green? Apparently white jade represents purity, and I guess green is the next best although I don't know about THAT green. (reading up on jade, lol) I am guessing it's probably the "type B" jade treated with artifical colors. Which makes me wonder why they couldn't have made a nicer deep green. Maybe they thought they'd tone it down as to not outshine the gold medal. I think a smaller, central engraving would have been much nicer and not taken so much away from that face of the medal. But most anything would be better than the Torino ones... "did I just win a silver medal, or a CD? I can't tell!"

I wonder if Carly Patterson is competing in 2008? She was really adorable!
I bet she could have been a really good skater if she had taken that road instead. It's also very interesting to think that Sasha Cohen might have stayed a gymnast if her mom wasn't paranoid about it. Imagine her on the uneven bars or bouncing around a balance beam. LOL!

It doesn't look like she is going to compete.
I really enjoyed watching her during the 2004 Olympics. She got me interested in gymnastics. |
