These threads seem to be very popular on forums and I love to watch movies so...

Post the last movie you saw! Feel free to include your thoughts on the film and even a rating if you'd like.

Tonight, I watched Black Hawk Down which retells the Battle of Mogadishu in Somali in 1993. It was one of the best war type movies I've seen. I give it a 10/10. :thumb:

Hmm, I believe the last film I saw was Spiderman 3. Tells the story of, well, Spiderman and his alter ego Peter Parker as he fixes up a seemingly perpetually broken relationship with Mary Jane and fights a dynamic duo of another Spiderman in a black costume (Venom) and some guy who could manipulate sand (Sandman).

This film had great potential, but I think it went in the wrong direction. It had one too many villains, leading to inadequate character development. There wasn't enough of an actual plot. It seemed like an action film at its core, which is what it should be, covered by an unnecessary, extended daytime soap opera between Mary Jane and Peter Parker. Not enough things happened to make the 140 minutes seem worthwhile. :( The 3 or 4 battle scenes are worth watching, though. CGI is amazing these days...

Today, I watched Platoon which depicts combat during the Vietnam War. A ton of well known actors are in it including Charlie Sheen, Willem Dafoe, Tom Berenger, Forest Whitaker, and Johnny Depp. The story was interesting, the acting was great, and it was very realistic.

Definitely deserves a 10/10.

Major League. Very quotable. If you want to want to not think very hard and laugh hysterically, Major League is a movie to watch. It has a few stars before they were actually stars (Wesley Snipes, Charlie Sheen), as well as Tom Berenger. Definitely scores a 10.

Movie: Accepted (2006)
Rated PG-13
Movie info from IMDb

Very predictable plot, some worn out jokes, yet surprisingly entertaining. Much of the acting/dialogue isn't necessarily top-notch, but the movie is worth watching for the performance of Justin Long as Bartleby Gaines, a character who represents of one of those latent geniuses of our era. It's difficult to believe much of what goes on, but the story is still quite fun to watch. The humor would probably most appeal to a young adult crowd with recent memories of the college admissions process, but I don't see why others wouldn't enjoy it. Definitely not worthy of an Oscar, but the whole idea is put together in a relatively original and entertaining way. It's just one of those movies that you kind of just sit back and watch without much necessary thought.

Pretty good movie with an interesting twist. I'm still not sure exactly what was going on.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007)
Rated PG-13
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0373889/

One of the more watchable Harry Potter titles as a film itself. Jumps around a bit, but I enjoyed most of it. Devoted Harry Potter fans might be disappointed to see various scenes left out from the book, but still very good! Acting is quite superb in relation to previous Potter films.

Thinner - 6/10

It's labeled as a horror film but it seemed more like a comedy to me. However, it really wasn't bad.

Tonight I watched Speed (1994) Keanu Reeves / Sandra Bullock

dont watch a lot of action movies but I was channel surfing and missed the 1st half hour :ah: so I dont know how the bomb got on the bus. it was interesting when they found the camera on the bus when the other cop guy went to the tv person and gave him the tape than have the guy make it to a loop so the other bus could come and get the passengers off. and the way Jack and Annie got off very dramatic. my rating 7.5 /10 :P

^ I saw that one a few years ago on TV. Good film. :)

Psycho III - 7/10

Better than I had expected. It's pretty violent but it has a decent story.
