No more than 2 Top No more than 5 High or Top (Ike must be included) No more than 8 Upper Mid or higher No more than 10 Lower Mid or higher At least one from Low or Bottom If your chosen character is not available until later on, you may pick a different unit of the same or lower tier to replace the chosen unit until said chosen unit joins the team. (Example: I can choose Titania and Reyson as my Top Tiers, but am allowed to use Boyd until Reyson shows up. Once Reyson shows up, however, Boyd can't be on the team.) Also, you may use more than two top tiers in the very beginning of the game. So, let's say you choose Titania and Boyd. You ARE allowed to use Titania, Boyd and Oscar on the first few chapters. I suppose the cutoff could be through chapter 8. That means your team basically doesn't matter through chapter 8 because you're pretty much all using the same units, with a few possible exceptions. Once you hit chapter 9, though, tier limits kick in. Also, since you HAVE to use one Low or Bottom tier, everyone basically has to use Mia until Rolf shows up, then they have that choice. Then waay later on, you can switch for either Ulki or Janaff and add the rest to the potential list as they come. The rest of the tiers you CAN, if you so choose, leave a slot open.
