Oh yes, Hannibal was a royal pain to recruit. Can't kill him, and you have to run past his castle (and all of his men) and capture the castle behind that one, get a unit, and then have that unit talk to Hannibal. Most convoluted way of recruiting a character EVER. Anyways, I personally prefer Rolf to Shinon. Shinon comes in at the beginning of the game and then leaves for a good part of the game and then comes back nearing the end of the game (well, Chapter 18 of 29, you tell me). Rolf comes in later in the game and stays with you all the way through. I like having archers on my team because they serve as good hit-and-run units (well, let's just say they're easily covered from the fight). By the time Shinon rejoins, I'd already been using Rolf for a LONG portion of the game, so I stick with Rolf. I also choose characters based on their personality too (which in itself, probably isn't the smartest of ideas) and Shinon pisses me off more often than not. |
