He's got superior movement, by far, to Soren and Makalov, as well as access to swords and Axes, whereas Zihark is locked to swords (which are the worst weapons in the game - Can't get 2 range except with Magic Swords, and the weakest might when accuracy isn't a problem for really anyone) Soren is very good, but he's held back by his low movement.
