No, it's not. It has just as much a chance as coming back and biting the citizens in the ass as it does of working to shut down the Mafia -- see, for instance, the first night, where the Bodyguard and an ordinary citizen were the victims of the double-lynch. It's the ultimate risk-reward, and as the first night shows, it's not something to be frivolously thrown around. The original thought was that early in the game it was something to be used to gain ground, but when you factor in that, potentially, the citizens could kill off the Detective and the Bodyguard at once, double-lynching is obviously shown to be something that shouldn't just be used every turn. The only way it could be broken is if the citizens consistently double-lynch the Mafia members. And for that to happen, you have to have both particularly good deduction by the citizens and carelessness by the Mafia in concealing its members' identities. |
