I used to use Ad-Aware until they released the new edition and made it a pain to upgrade. I switched over to Avast which for mainly for Virus protection but does a damn good job of removing them. Also I'm suprised at SR as not being counted on, when ever I run out of options, SR has saved my ass... if there's a restore point >_> But anyway, Avast protects you on the web, you can actually surf sites that would otherwise infect you with spyware because Avast severs the coonection with the file. It can also can detect spyware as soon it touches your PC and does a really good job of scanning files. Only downside, scanning your entire PC will take FOREVER, but thats only because it throughly scans files (I've seen the thing destroy viruses stored in freaking Installation files and leaving the good parts intact) |
