I guess we'll know when we all get crushed into oblivion that they got it to work. ![]() That's what I thought I saw, though, that it hadn't happened yet. Hence why my original thought given the potential consequences was "hell no." Why even take that chance, regardless of how small it is? This isn't a trivial matter -- this is all known life in the universe going splat, see ya later, thanks for the ride into the halo of darkness. It wouldn't surprise me to hear that scientists believe the chances of it happening are minute -- but is the knowledge of whether the Big Bang Theory is true or false so important that taking any risk with, literally, the fate of the planet, at stake is even remotely acceptable? I say no. Of course, I'm sure that I'm missing something really important...but given what (little) I do know, my inclination is not at all worth the risk. |
