3) A beam of light is emitted in a pool of water from a depth of 62.5 cm. How far away, relative to the spot directly above it, must it strike the air-water interface in order that the light does not exit the water?
____ cm

4) A flashlight beam strikes the surface of a pane of glass (n = 1.58) at a 57° angle to the normal. What is the angle of refraction?
____ °
Problem 3: You want no light ot leave the water, meaning you want total internal reflection. Once you find that angle, just use trigonometry to find what horizontal distance you need to go travel so that X/62.5 = tan(Critical Angle). Problem 4: n1s1 = n2s2 If I recall correctly. Air has 1.00 n, so basically you can do n1s1 = s2 and plug into there.
Reaver i love you
