This is a good find, but Im bumping this because I found a way with my dad to do this without and sodering, melting, potentially burning your chip, etc. All you needed was a small screwdriver, so some strong tape, and a small enough pair of plyers to get the screw out. I just fixed my crystal version last night, and it now is perfect. Ill probably talk to the guy with the original idea tony posted, and I might post what I did here.
Well, that may work with GameBoy and GameBoy Color, and possibly Game Boy Advance games due to how compact they are, but i would still never, EVER suggest doing that because if that battery comes loose while your saving, it'll screw up your data, AND the tape might ruin the game's circuitry. But cool, I guess.
