Sometimes people's ignorance is astonishing or perhaps it's that they are naive.

While playing Perfect World, some random person invited me to their guild called "CGC4JEESUS." I don't have a guild, so what could I lose by joining? I could leave whenever I wanted. So I joined.

The guy who invited me told me I had to learn their guild history. History? I just want to play the game with people, not take history lessons on your online guild. When he asked me to sign up on their forums he told me to use my first name. My real first name. We just met and he wants my name? I haven't told him that he's a moron yet, because I was curious now. I asked him why that made things safe. He gave a bit of history about his forum got hacked and deleted in the past because it was public... Because that's what happens to all public forums.

Then he went on to say it made it safe because "people who are dishonest don't want to identify themselves. Easy." Obviously.

The conversation went on, then he told me he played in Guild Wars for a while with this guild. But he said they didn't play Hall of Heroes (a PVP tournament held frequently during the day) because it was compedative and this was a family friendly guild. Yet his guild participated in Alliance Battles, a large compedative battle frequently ran on Guild Wars. Let’s not overlook the obvious contradiction that this is a "family friendly" guild in a game where you run around and kill monsters and people? Hmm…

Only reason I have jumped ship yet is because of the lulz (and to sneak out when he isn't online).
