... I had a rather large rebuttal that got deleted.

Or, much like the case of Russia, you can eventually and slowly revert into a state which works via dictatorship.

Possible. Likely? I'm not sure.

You obviously ignored the article:

Obviously not, because I quoted it directly.

"In the days after the U.S.-led invasion in 2003, many women were hopeful that they would enjoy greater parity with men. President Bush said that increasing women's rights was essential to creating a new, democratic Iraq.

But interviews with 16 Iraqi women, ranging in age from 21 to 52, show that much of that postwar hope is gone. The younger women say they fear being snatched on their way to school and wonder whether their college degrees will mean anything in the new Iraq. The older women, proud of their education and careers, are watching their independence slip away."

You know what I don't see at all in the article? Any of them blaming the United States, Bush, etc. They're afraid of terror attacks. The climate of fear, the loss of jobs, the attacks against women with burqas, the United States is responsible for none of it.

Keep in mind this also a 2006 article, during the worst years of the war. I'd like to speak to this women now that violence is controlled. As if 16 women in a country of millions was actually a representative sample...

What's temporary about creating a generation resentful for American occupation because it left it orphaned? The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree and their anti-american sentiment is going to go a lot farther than their own lifespan. If you were to say the same thing about slavery - that in 100 years after slavery people would consider blacks equal - it took a lot of more work erase that resentment which is still very much present in our community. Plus, since the US is so far removed, it'll be much harder to eradicate those sentiments.

Really? An entire generation of orphans? I had no idea it was so serious!

I see what you mean though. WWII was sixty years ago, and anti-German sentiment is everywhere I look! Slavery is a poor example, because racism was ongoing.

Oh please. The "intelligence was wrong" schtick only goes so far. Remember Hans Blix telling us that he found no evidence? Remember the United Nations insisting they wanted to look into anything further before the assumption was made? Remember O'Neil talking about how the Bush Administration wanted to go into Iraq before 9/11? The support from other countries is also laughable: for the most part the United States has been pouring more and more troops into Iraq. "Inviting" the UN to join means nothing if the war is silly; that'd be like Hitler asking the UN if they want to join the Holocaust and then saying that we inivted them...

1. Bush wanted to go to war before 9/11? I wonder if that was because Saddam TRIED TO KILL HIS DAD, a point I noticed you completely skipped. That single act is justification for any war, if the rape chambers, torture chambers, and massacre of his own people weren't enough. And it's not like it was a novel idea. Congress had already passed Public Law 105-235, demanding the President take action on Iraq, and declaring their opinion that Iraq had WMD's.
2. It was Hans' word against the best intelligence agencies in the world. What were we supposed to think?
3. Of course inviting the UN meant nothing. When has the UN ever decided to do anything other than decide not to do anything? It was a courtesy. But my point was, we don't need UN approval for anything.

I return to a major part of my first post which is that Iraq tried to murder our President, which is an act of war if I've ever heard one.

Please keep Christian bashing to a minimum. This is mainly the American South (and mainly Evangelical death cults), which is similar to Afghanistan under the Taliban.

Touching.

Clones are create and people can't bore a clone. Scientifically they are called born and not created. The only way to pre-determine their genes is if they are already out in the world usually in a pod that would resemble the sac in a mothers womb. Take Star Wars for example.

Smartest post ever made.
