The background image of choice adds lots of solemnity to the whole piece, a bittersweet sort of tone to it if you will. The color hue is fitting for the character and doesn't overpower. The text blends very nicely with the whole image and looks natural rather than forced. I don't know what you did on the hand, but it looks startlingly close to a real hand or an acrylic painting of the type used for the covers of the Gundam 0079 manga. I dub thee Expert on this banner.
