It's a horrible comparison to make. If you feel like you're "not being represented" you're wrong. That's what you vote for. The colonies didn't have representatives in England, so that actually was taxation without representation. Just because the majority of Americans disagree with your economic policy doesn't mean you're not being represented. I'm using the general "you" here, not talking to you specifically, but to the people who are protesting like this is some crazy scandal.
People believe that we aren't being represented, due to the majority stonewalling the minority. Do you remember Nancy Pelosi's "We won the election, we wrote the bill"? Basically its the idea that 50+% of Americans have their representation (idk the actual numbers) . But what about that remaining 49-% of Americans? Where was their say in (for example) the Stimulus bill? Where is their say in the federal Budget? I want to be very clear, that we do not live in a Democracy. We never were a Democracy. And God willing, we will never be a Democracy. A Democracy is a state where there is tyranny of the Majority. We do not live in a state like that. In our country, even the minority should get a say in matters of policy. And that is not happening right now. Thus, Taxation without Representation.
