Your Majesty, King Tyranus of Elzor, First of all, I would like to make clear that this is my own opinion and in no way reflects the opinion of Agustria, Prince Lanthus, Princess Aurenia, or any associated parties or government representatives thereof. Now that that's out of the way... I advise caution in this enterprise. Allowing or disallowing armies to cross your borders for only the price of gold is a dangerous pursuit. All it would take for your plan to remain neutral to backfire is for an army to attack whilst passing through your lands. Should an attacker be outbid by a defender, said attacker might well choose to travel the road through force - or they may simply decide that the cost of gold is too high, and forgo all pretense of payment. It seems, to myself, that this enterprise is far too risky for a King who seeks to defend his subjects rather than simply expand his coffers. In addition, your manner of speech seems to be of one affecting a noble, rather than one who is noble born. (To be precise, using 'one' so often in place of 'you' or 'I'.) Perhaps rumours of a puppet king in Yied have some substance, although it pains me to think that a man such as yourself would allow such a thing. After all, a king has a duty to look after his people; a duty which I don't think this shadowy puppeteer holds him or herself to. In summary: I think this is one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard and you talk like a bad actor. Yours with all due respect, Iago Shantar of Agustria. |
