I'm back! And all I can say is, Lunamaria Hawke, number one! I don't expect to get more than one post in, so I think I'll make it count as I run ruckshaw over the complaining.
First off Senty, you're confusing tyranny with losing, and I feel for you, since I've been there, a few times I might as. You see, when the guy you disagree with gets elected, he's probably going to do things you disagree with. He could cut taxes on the wealthy, remove government oversight capability, invade a country you thought should not be invaded... That's not tyranny, that's democracy. See now, you're in the minority. It's suppose to taste like a shit taco. By the way, I believe when disagreement was expressed about the previous president's actions when you all were in power, I believe the response was 'Why do you hate America?', 'watch what you say', 'love it or leave it', 'suck my trucknuts' Also, Hitler never had a set of commemorative plates. Also, the taxation without representation claim is without merit because there are more people in the United States who disagree with your viewpoint and want to have the wealthy pay their share of the burden. Also when party overwhelmingly controls the House, has near full control of the Senate, and was given a clear victory for the presidency, that party has the right and duty to do what they pledged to do to their constituents. Like the Opposition did just 8 years ago. Also don't forget, you claimed 51% was a mandate and you got a lot of political capital for it in 2004 too. For god's sake, the teabagging was done when the Republicans were out of power for 10 weeks, they could get their act together for the mid-term elections which was 22 months away, don't get angry, because that would damage your organs, and with Obama's mandatory organ dona- I've said to much. Alright, destroying Senty's temper tantrum logic aside, let's dismantle this astroturf movement, shall we? And it is an astroturf movement as it was organized and promoted by the RNC, Fox News and Freedom Works. The basis of this astroturf movements seems to be the opposition is upset that Obama is going to implement his campaign promise to return the taxation on the wealthiest Americans pay an increase of 3% in 2 years. The taxation that they were protesting now? That was George W. Bush's and the Republican's tax code. Also it's hard to know what people were protesting, seeing they are against the bailout which was passed by previous administration, the TARP funds, which was passed by previous administration, the bail out of AIG passed by previous administration, the initial loans to the automakers, again a product of the last administration. They seem to be against the stimulus package which includes several hundred billions in tax cuts towards those down trodden who were protesting. They seemed to dislike these massive deficits, even though they were silent through the previous administration's spending towards the wealthy and turning a surplus of the Clinton years into a massive debt. However, by that same token when measures are proposed to do something about those massive deficients. I.E. Letting taxes go back to where they were in 2001, they're against that too. The only thing I can think of is, these people would support a Herbert Hoover approach to dealing with the recession. Of course since even after Fox 'News''s media sponsership of the April 15 tea parties, people seem to have lost interest in them and the fringe conspiracists step up to the fore in the slide into right wing populism. But don't take my word for it, watch it yourself http://crooksandliars.com/medialoader/8902/af913/mov/TeaParties_07-05-09.mov (For Quicktime) http://crooksandliars.com/medialoader/8902/af913/wmv/TeaParties_07-05-09.wmv (For WMV) And to set up how that all happened, read this. I should make a quiz to make sure you comprehend the material. http://washingtonindependent.com/49616/tea-party-movement-loses-steam So with the tea party movement all but fizzled out, I ask, what's next for the Republicans more than to stonewall everything Obama is trying to do, such as allow universal healthcare, trying to turn the economy around, reign in corruption? Because I find it rather amusing that Obama is being called a communist and a socialist when he's trying to save capitalism. Pity I'm going to get 'refuted' and banned so I can't crush those talking points. GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE! Bonus Material Irony Ahoy! ![]() And a final video from one of the teabagging parties. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkOwsIIIe5I Edited by Black Knight, Jul 20 2009, 05:17 AM.
