When you can't make them see the light, make them feel the heat.

My parents vary to different extremes with me. I don't consider them too highly, and I don't have much respect for them. |

I believe that there should be some sort of physical punishments if a child get really out of hand. But never should a chlid be hit hard enough for it to leave any mark for a day or more. My dad...he's a pretty horrible father. he beats me and so forth. My mom is okay, she'll pull at my hair if she gets really mad though. You want to give your child what they DESERVE not what they want. Even though I have crappy parents (or close to it) they have taught me a lot liket he needing and wanting. Even now on Christmas and Birthdays I think of what I need first before what I want. Oh and when you threaten you child (taking toys away and such), MAKE SURE YOU CARRY THROUGH WITH IT. hahaha. Never let your child hit you or talk back to you in any way. On the subject of babies...its best not to spoil it well not for a long time at least. Making it learn to be "independent" and "learn to play on its own" is very good for the child and he/she developes mentally. I'm not saying, "Lock your child up with toys ad keep it there". Just if a baby cries because it want undying attention and you are pretty busy then don't give in. |

Im just curious...how many of the people posting here are actually parents... It seems stupid to post if you've never gone through the pressure of being a parent |

Rel, I'm very experienced as a child. With my mother's work, I know much more than most people and quite a bit more than some adults. |

Correct, I have also written several guides that were useful to some parents. yes but I do agree that most people (who are parents) dn't know what they are tlaking about. |

I agree with everyone BloodR said and share the same views on this matter. *High five*. And Rel as I said before I babysit so I know how to deal with children of all ages, though I am not a parent myself. (At least I would hope not...) And I was a child at one point and I remember that clearly so that helps.

Not Waving but Drowning Nobody heard him, the dead man, But still he lay moaning: I was much further out than you thought And not waving but drowning. Poor chap, he always loved larking And now he's dead It must have been too cold for him his heart gave way, They said. Oh, no no no, it was too cold always (Still the dead one lay moaning) I was much too far out all my life And not waving but drowning. -Stevie Smith | |

Yeah, the line is if the kid starts bleeding. But parents should definately be able to spank their kids. If I hadn't been spanked when I was a kid, I would be a hardened criminal. |

Abusive parents can get really bad....all kids are just like there parents. If there parents smoke, will there child do the same? Sometimes paents can be bad or good examples to there child. The main issue is that many kids get abused by there parents because they can be sooo rude and mad. |
