I've decided to write my own fan story, because I see others do so as well.
And I must admit, I love to write. I'm nothing special, and my word choice might seem simple, but that's just because I don't know the right word in English.
My real atory will be posted soon, but until then, you'll have to do with this short and crappy one. More explanation on people will be done later, seeing how this is just a small pro-pro-pro-pro-pro-pro-pro-logue. Really, this is just something to give me a reason to post this topic.

~Children and morphs.

Daefun held his arms in a cross, in an attempt to deflect most of the damage done by the spell. The power made him slide back over the ground, and almost causing him to fall over. His arms were burnt, but it didn't matter. Right now he had a chance to attack, and he would attack with all that he had.

On the other side of the small arena stood Raven, with a luna book in her left hand.
She was exhausted from the last hit, but not as damaged as Daefun.
Not too surprising, seeing how she preferred elder magic in combat, and Daefun wielded Nature magic.

Daefun took a book from the satchel on his belt, and slowly moved closer to Raven. Although his eyes kept looking in the direction of Raven, he had to read the enchantements in the book now and then, giving her time to attack.
As the enchantmens were finished, he raised his left hand.
He called up the energy that lay within him, and literally pushed it out him.
"Elfire!"
After speaking those words, the energy formed a fireball, that was shot at Raven.

Raven knew what Daefun would cast, so she braced for impact.
Knowing he used accurate magic, it would be best to take the blow, rather than try and flee from it. As the magic took form, and was pushed towards her, a voice shouted their names from her back. The magic in front of her dissolved, and she lowered her arms.

Daefun sighed, as lord Ephidel walked in the arena.
He was just about to land a succesful hit, and then their teacher interferes.
He put his book back in his satchel, and walked through the arena.

Lord Ephidel smiled, as he saw the to walk towards him.
"I see your practise went well. It's good to know your magic levels are increasing."

Raven smirked at this remark, and looked over her shoulder.
She knew it was only directed at her, for she was the only to make actual progress in the last week. Daefun was too busy doing 'other things', as he would tell them.
Besides that, she was the only one to actually learn Runes and the Elvish language.
Daefun rather learned Japanese, an utterly useless language, from her point of view. Dark magic used Runes, and light magic used Latin. So she guessed Nature magic required Japanese, although she really didn't understand why anyone would want to learn that weak magic.

Daefun stopped in front og his teacher, and looked up.
He was still frightened by Ephidel, even though he's been his teacher for over 5 years. There was something about the way he looked at them that made a cold chill run over his spine. Ephidel would never tell them who their parents were, and would neither tell them why they were there. Over the years they accepted their fate, and decided it would be best to just do as he says.

"I think you two have trained enough for today. Go meet up with Nicholas in the classroom, I have something important to tell you."
After saying this, he immediatly turned around and walked back into his quarters.

Daefun raised and eyebrow, but did as he was told.
"I wonder why he never talks with us."
Raven looked at Daefun, and thought about this.
"But he does, doesn't he? He just talked to us."

Daefun shook his head, and opened the door.
"I mean, as in having a nice conversation. Chatting, if you will."
"That's logical. It's useless. What would that give you?
It's better to only talk when there are things to be discussed, like how to improve your techniques. Or how to spill more blood on the battlefield.

Daefun grinned, as he walked in the classroom, followed by Raven.
Raven always had an interest for blood, and wanted to see lots of it.
One day, she even cut open Nicholas' wrist, just to see blood.
Luckily lord Ephidel was close by, to heal his wounds."
Daefun didn't understand what she saw in it.
Sure, it was a beautiful fluid, even more when it came out of their enemy.
But to cut an ally just to look at it? He would never understand Raven.

The real coming soon. Expect that one to be good, or at least mediocre.

I'm still a boon writer, so please be gentle with me

This is the real story, and much better than that piece of crap I just posted :)

Prologue: Battle at night.

It was a cold and windy day, and the streets were empty in the old city. You could hear people talking or singing in their houses, in their well-lit and warm houses. But outside in the streets of the outer ring of the city it was almost a ghost town, with no living soul on the snowy streets. Well, no living soul would be a lie, for there was one. A man, wearing a brown cloak, and a hood that covered his face. He was walking in a fast pace, heading for the southern gate of the city. As he was about to exit it, another man stepped in his path. Judging by the way they looked at each other, they were clearly not best friends. The man in the cloak put his hand in his sack, and pulled out what appeared to be a book. As a reply, the other man unsheathed a large sword, more a blade actually. Apparently the man with the large sword was a mercenary, and the hooded man a shaman, his prey. The man with the sword stepped forward, and did a horizontal slash at the cloaked man’s chest. The cloaked men stepped back, and spoke some words in an ancient language. A dark ball of energy formed behind the mercenary, and shot through his stomach. The mercenary fell on the ground, with a large burnt hole in the middle of his torso, his sword falling next to him. The cloaked man hid the book again, and ran away from the corpse, as someone would surely have heard the fight.

Chapter one: battles and wars.

Reximus grabbed his lance, and exited his tent. The large, but old, general stretched his arms, before walking to his troops. He had medium-length gray hair, and brown eyes. It was a tall and muscular man, and wearing the armor that he did made him even more impressive.
The troops before him were also putting on their armour, and mounting their horses.
They were some of Kirojil’s finest troops, and specially trained for defensive work.
Although the weaponry they were given was suitable for their mission, they were a bit on the heavy side, possibly giving the enemy chance to strike twice. But this was of no importance at the moment, because they had enough time left to prepare.

Lieutenant Reto, Reximus’ second in command, called for the general’s aid.
It appeared that one of the leading knights, already a paladin knight at a young age, had fallen ill. Reximus hurried over to Reto, and crouched next to the man’s body.
“What’s going on?” he asked the physician, who was also a priest.
“I’m not entirely sure, but from the looks of it he inhaled some type of toxic gas.
I’m afraid there’s not much we can do, as long as we don’t know what type it is.”
The physician held up the knight’s wrist, and listened to his pulse.
“His condition is decreasing rapidly, and if we don’t do something soon, he’ll…well…die.”
Reximus sighed after hearing the bad news, and looked at the knight.
Suddenly his face went from sad to happy, and he stood up and ran to a cavalier.
“You there, I have a messenger job for you. Request a book with all types of poison, and their antidotes at the sorcery institute. Hurry!”

The messenger nodded, and mounted his horse. He saluted the general, and rode off in the direction of the capital.
“Let’s hope he’ll get back here in time to save that man’s life. Or actually, more a boy.”
He walked back to his troops, and continued the examination.

“Move back to the second row!! Form a circle around the archers, and protect them!
Aim at the middle, drive them apart!”
The battlefield was a complete chaos, and it wasn’t clear which side was which.
Shreyk elegantly dodged an arrow by moving slightly to the right, and went into another loop.
As he was making a dive to the ground, he rammed his lance into an armoured knight, piercing him. He used both hands to pull it back out, and kicked a cavalier from his horse.
As he flew up again, the fighters surrounding him covered their faces.
A wyvern was a frightening beast, and seeing one in combat paralysed you with fear.
That’s why Shreyk rides one, to see fear on his opponent’s face before he strikes him down.

Back in the air, he had a better overview on the battle.
His wyvern troops were driving back the mountain rebels, and he knew they would win.
The rebels never stood a chance to begin with, because Shreyk himself designed the battle plan. Satisfied he flew lower over the field, to get an estimate of casualties.
He only saw about 10 of his own men lying on the field, the rest were rebels.
He was famed for winning battles with very little casualties, while still defeating large armies.

The remaining troops of the rebels mostly consisted of archers and armoured knights, mere cannon fodder for his fast and powerful wyverns. His division was the only one armed with Fili shields, because of their high results in combat. Archers posed no threat, and armoured knights were too slow for his troops. He smiled, and flew back to his troops.

Fehll threw his javelin at a fighter, hitting him right in the forehead. Whilst retrieving it, a warrior ran to him, his steel axe raised. Fehll quickly pulled his arms back, to avoid them form getting cut off. He held the warrior’s wrist, and kicked him in the stomach.
Then he took his javelin from the body, and jammed it in the warrior’s hip.
He looked at his left arm, which was slit by the axe, and still bleeding. Although he could take a few hits, this battle had been going on for hours, and he was getting tired.
Quickly making his way to his wyvern, he took some bandage from his bag and wrapped it around the wound.

Back in the sky, he saw that the rebel army was decimated to nothing, and that the remaining fighters were killed. General Shreyk was approaching, so Fehll flew to him, to take his place as the general’s assistant. Fehll was proud of his rank, because he looked up to the general.
He was a wise man, with brilliant tactics.
“Sir, the battle went completely as planned. Less than 15 casualties on our side, and above 50 on the rebel’s side. No weapon replacements had to be made, and all wyverns are still in perfect condition. The men are satisfied, although some complain the battle has been going on for too long.” Fehll said, as the general looked at him for an explanation.
Of course, he didn’t add that he was one of them. It would hurt his heart might the general get mad at him.
“Too long eh? I’ll note that for our next assault on the borderline troops. The men mustn’t get tired before the battle ends. I’ll find a way to fix it. For now I’m going to scout around, to see where some of the rebel encampments are. I want you get all the men, and tell them the new plan.”
“Yes sir.” Fehll saluted, and flew away in the opposite direction.
