The near shoulder pad needs some more shiny (as you mentioned on FEP), but I think it looks really good. Nice job. :3 |

 The original was shinier but after I darkned the colours it looked wierd so I editted it out and never got around to trying again. It looks wierder since i left the shiny on the far shoulder and breastplate. Also I didn'ts hade the Tsuba. If I keep at it, I'm bound to get okay at it |

I guess if you blended those really bright highlights a bit more, it'd look more like you want it.

here have some art. Hayt doodles Hayt chibi~ *slashes the screen in half* Started drawing Sun Jie (Hayt's ma) but ended up just drawing Hayt *flicks the V* Tennouji Hayt, yo. Controlled manifestation. In a hoodie for some reason. Usui Katsurou, Kurama's daddy and the man Di stole the Bloody Throne from. Ironically, Katsurou's demon manifested again in Hayt and was the one to slay Di. Ima doodles T2 doodle on the left, fiddling with t3 Ima on the right. Short hair doesn't quite cut it =/ Hacked to bits and still awesome. Dramatic hidden-face pose go Venre shows off his surgically-enhanced grin. Venre's axes, Broadside and Volley. Forgotten Sword concepts Aphrael, the final boss. No spoilers here, move along. Eliza, the Ilian lord. Tristan, the Western lord. Shoddy Uther, our Lycian lord. We already had sprites for him so I didn't feel much effort was necessary. Eagler concept with horrifically disfigured head and terrible body. Harken needs to be way younger =/ Isadora is lulzy. Random Junk 'Noble Di' was this story I was fiddling with covering Sun Di's life before he was cursed with the Felsworn. It was going to portray Di as a heroic man who sacrificed his wife, home and accepted the image of tyranny for the rest of his life in order to play his role in important events. Random Monk, gogo. Eurydice Augusta, my golden sun character. Vergil mugshot copied from the manga for practice purposes. Nosocks makes me wet inside. Also copied. Don't call Szarke small or she'll shove a portable nuke down your pants. Christ she's adorable~ Rusva being sexy. Alternate angle. Fae doin' some capoeira. Again, pose and clothing copied. Was fiddling with my internet avatar (Myke) Was supposed to be older Raphael but didn't turn out like planned. I don't know why I drew Dante's head so freaking tiny but I decided to crop it here. Snake-god battle or something. This is Alan Delecroix. He is a sleeping god, a firestorm of cosmic energy. Fortunately, he doesn't know it and mostly just makes an idiot of himself and talks nonsense. Doodle for my DMC campaign that might be used as a Reiji concept for Forgotten Sword. |

Do you know about the Dodge/Burn tool, Myke? It does help a lot with highlights and shadows. Your art has improved greatly since the first post in the thread. Because of the sheer amount of it, I can't really comment justly. Every piece has its own merit. Keep up the good work. |

Yeah. I found this tutorial on Deviantart. Fill an area with grey, set up a gradient map and use the burn tool for shading and the dodge tool for shinies. Keep doing this in seperate layer groups until you've covered the whole thing. |

wut lol I never went through all that. I just color my images in flats with a different layer for every feature. Although I do use the process of dodging and burning where appropriate and then blending with the smudge tool. I think I'll give this a try next time, though. Thanks for the link.
