Yeah there's one in the desert chapter that you find in the sand. It's in the upper right corner in that forsaken looking empty place. I believe if you use a Laguz character and find the space that he's in he'll join you. If you dont use a Laguz he'll just give you his sword, which I have to admit is pretty kick-ass, *it's a level S sword.* Hope that helps clear things up for ya. Also you find the guy like an item in the desert just wait on the space that he's hiding in. |

I have a quick question and I hope I word it well enough so people understand what I'm asking. Assuming that Path of Radiance follows Rekka no Ken in terms of weapon level growth (which I believe it does), then Iron/some other weapons net you 1 weapon exp., and Steel/Silver/others net you 2 weapon exp., right? Well, my question is based off of this assumption, so if I'm wrong, please let me know. What I would like to know is if forged weapons of any type (be they Iron, Steel, Slim, or Silver) give you the weapon experience corresponding to that respective weapon type, or if they only yield Iron weapon-type experience (1 weapon exp.). I first observed that when I had promoted Jill and Marcia, I immediately forged a Steel Axe for Jill, while I gave Marcia a somewhat used Iron Sword I already had stored away (I wanted to just break it and get it out of storage, really). Over the course of a few maps, I used the two characters somewhat and they both reached D level in their respective second weapon types around the same time. At this point, Marcia's Iron sword had broken, so I gave her a Steel Sword which was a few uses in (man, shes just getting hand-me-downs at this point) and Jill got a new forged Steel Axe. As time went on, I noticed that Marcia, by the end of the game, had reached her C level in Swords (after breaking her Steel and moving onto another Steel weapon) while Jill had still been stuck in her D rank (still using forged Axes). Both characters were deployed together almost all the time and I actually set aside three or four maps where I would only use the characters' secondary weapons just to try and raise their rank for those weapons. This is just observation and I haven't been able to do extensive testing--even forum and internet searches have come up naught. All this being said, I thought I'd ask here. So, to put it all in one simple question... Do forged weapons of any type yield the weapon exp. of that particular weapon type (i.e., a forged Steel weapon yielding ordinary Steel weapon exp.), or do all forged weapons yield Iron weapon exp. (1 weapon exp.)? |

But you said Marcia had been using an iron sword at first, when Jill was already using a steel weapon, right? |

About forged weapons, they indeed give weapon exp of their type. That's because (for example) a forged Steel Sword is basically just a Steel Sword, but you can change four of its stats, it's name and colour. If you press R (or whatever the help button is) on a forged weapon, it'll give the same description as if it was a normal weapon. As for the anomaly, I'm not too sure myself. There's two or three ways it could have happened- 1) Either Jill or Marcia already had weapon exp in their weapon type (eg. E in Lances, with 15 WEXP), 2) All forged weapons do give 1 WEXP, or 3) You observed incorrectly. If you're sure it's 2, you could try testing it. 1 is another possiblity, since it's happened in previous games. However from the way stats are coded, it doesn't seem likely (weapon ranks are coded with Ranks instead of WEXP). |
