Matthew: He sucks. Averages 16 STR and only 19 SKL, so he has no offensive capabilities later on. Thanks to his poor SKL, his chance of the OHKO is very low. His 9 RES also makes me cry. Nino: Useless trash. Pent does her job already and does it better. 4 CON = STFU + GTFO. Everyone else is ok. |

I can use Nino well enough, just gotta make sure she finishes off an enemy instead of being the first to attack. I found that giving Nino the boots helps her. I don't have a problem with Nino, though I'm sure you all do. I can agree that Matthew "sucks" though... ~Sarah |

I haven't post for a long time since I was away, but I'm back now, wonder if anyone gonna welcome me though... But as for the topic, let's see. Personal: I hate Batre because he ended up with Karla, and she is really hot, I wish she could be with someone else. Stat: I don't really have one, I train the good ones, so I never know what the bad ones are like, but I hate all fliers except Heath. Eliwood is awsome, so is Lyn, and Hector. If you train Eliwood right, he is powerful. Eliwood is weak for noobs, when I play though this game the first time (which is a long time ago), i didn't train him as well, and start over levels 6 - 8 times because he died. Just take time train him. Mathew is OK, he suck, but he is the only theif you get in the begining of the story, so you need him for doors and chests. |

Problems with Nino: 4 con. That is also AFTER promoting to a sage as well. sleep.gif She can't even wield the heavier weapons without suffering a speed loss. Erk is not much better off with his 5 CON. However, Pent comes with 8 Con so he can wield whatever without suffering a loss. <3 Horrible base stats: Her averages are pretty powerful but she is pretty easily raped by the RNG. Nino is just flat out raped in this (and Erk as well) by Pent. Due to this, Nino (and Erk) just are not solid units too bring. Sure, one of them COULD and I repeat could end up decent/amazing but the risk is not worth the reward especially when you consider the fact that Pent basically comes with auto-win stats that just can't be screwed by the RNG. Avgs: Her DEF avgs out to a 12.1 which is just lower than Erk's DEF of 12.6. In other words, crap. =( Pent, on the other hand, avgs a smexy 15.2 in def. Nino end up with highest in total avgs but that leads me to her next problem. Time she enters game: Now, in order for her to actually hit those high avgs., you have to pretty much have to give all the XP in the last few chapters to her. This takes valuable XP from other units who could really use it in your army that should already be well developed at that point. In addition, the turns spent "baby-sitting" her pretty much take away any shot of getting an S ranking/ ;( Now, consider that Pent does not really need much training, is loved by the RNG, comes with an auto A support with Louise. Plus, to make him even awesomer, he already has an A in staves so his usefulness increases even more as he can heal on the side with no training necessary. Her personality also really irritates me though that it is more personal, I suppose. >_> onoes loli alert =( In short, there is just no point using Nino. =/ |

Are you calling me a noob, good sir? I had a good Eliwood once, but still wasn't that useful =P I agree with the Nino thing. If it was FE 8, where you can train your guys before missions, she would be the best character =/ But it is a pain training her. I trained her to a sage once, and she was really good though, much better then Pent, Priscilla and Erk. |

Nino Stat expectation: HP: 39 Def: 10 Mag: 25 Res: 25 Skl: 27 Luc: 26 Spd: 26 Con: 4 Pent Stat Expectation: HP: 40 Def: 14 Mag: 21 Res: 20 Skl: 22 Luc: 20 Spd: 23 Con: 8 Pent beats Nino only with one HP and 4 defense, as well as 4 con. Nino averages 3 more speed than Pent, though, meaning if they are using heavy weapons, her speed is only beat by ONE. So let's take that into account... Pent: HP: +1 Defense: +4 Speed: +1 Total: +6 Nino: Mag: +4 Skl: +5 Res: +5 Luck: +6 Total: +20 Nino beats Pent by 14 stats. FOURTEEN! Add the Afa's Drops, which are very effective with Nino, adding a total of 14 stats on average. Her speed well compensates for her dirt low con and with her luck she'll be dodging the more lethal stuff even with heavier weapons. Though Pent does have more consistant stats, Nino's randomosity is easily made up for with the possibility of Afa's Drops. Also her high Mag allows her to use weak tomes without losing much speed. Hell, she can use Fire without losing one. Now, granted, I still find it...Annoying to train her. It DOES tend to be very easy to do though. All she needs is a decent portion of the enemies on the chapter you get her and Jaffar in and she can be second tier easy by the end of that chapter. Because of her stats, it'll also be easy to NOT have to babysit her on the next chapter...Just as long as she doesn't get attacked extremely often by physical foes. But certainly by the end of THAT chapter, she'll be on par with at least the weakest of your "best" characters. Now, I'm not Nino Fanatic but, like how I sort of defended swordmasters, I hate to see someone who's not that bad be put down so hard. Nino is far from suckage. The absolute ONLY thing that brings her down is her low level. That's it. Some might say that the Godly stats make up for it, some won't. That part is personal preference. But I'll be damned if I sit here and read people complain about her stats without at least defending her. |

Uh, your averages are wrong. Nino's total is 193.5. Pent's total is 185.3. Nino wins in total by 10.2, not 14. However, Nino loses far more than 1 SPD when using anything but Fire. She loses 2 from Thunder, 6 from Elfire, 9 SPD from Fimbulvetr, 16 SPD from Bolting, and 9 SPD from Excalibur. So she'll have 24 SPD, 20 SPD, 10 SPD, and 17 SPD in those cases. Pent loses no SPD from Thunder, 2 from Elfire, 5 from Fimbulvetr, 12 from Bolting, and 5 from Excalibur. Pent will have 23 SPD, 21 SPD, 18 SPD, 11 SPD, and 18 SPD. Pent wins in all cases but Fire, and only loses by a single point in the case of Thunder. Pent has the higher overall attack SPD. |

Because Nino's SPEED is higher, his speed ONLY beats hers by one. As far as stat averages, I was off because I rounded. Silly, silly me. Still, though 10.2 is remarkably high.
Those are a lot of words to say "Pent has one more speed than Nino." |

So? I always go to the furthest point when it comes statistical analysis. Pent's safe base stats and starting off with an A staff level is something Nino can never mimic. Pent, however, can mimic getting good gains. |

So now you respond to THAT instead of restating something what you said earlier.
True. As with many pre-promos, he has good weapon levels. I don't have much against that, but I still say her stats outshine Pent's A in staves. |

Afa's drops would only increase each stat by 1.75 or so on average. WOW!
The more likely result is that she'll hit her averages, in which case she is not worth spending so much EXP since Pent and Erk are just as good. |
