Utter, utter failure. Posts: 287 Group: FEFFer Member #283 Joined: July 2, 2005	Nino isn't that good. Her CON is only a 3. This makes her unable to wield anything good like, say, Excaliber. High Speed is lost because of this... Hence, Pent>nino. More reliable.

Brit Posts: 6,491 Group: Judge Member #659 Joined: March 8, 2006	I completely agree that Pent owns Nino (I did say she was one of my worst characters). I didn't add Karla because I didn't use her when I got her, and Renault, his personality is the coolest. It inspired one of my Elibe characters.

Will I ever change this av/sig combo? Posts: 1,362 Group: Veteran Member #780 Joined: May 3, 2006	By the time I get Nino, most of the units in my main party are usually well experienced, so I don't usually mind spending time to give to nurture Nino into her higher levels, and she's turned out excellent more often than not. It should be noted that with the exception of defense and luck, all of Nino's growth rates are at or above 50%, and with Afa's, luck goes to 50% as well. I find it hard to believe that's she's going to get RNG raped too often. While Nino may not be the best character, she's definitely not the worst. My vote for worst character, stats-wise goes to Renault. 12 magic at Lv. 16 Bishop? That's pitiful.

Renault's beefed up in other areas that give him an edge in total against Matthew. DEF, RES, CON, AID. =) I'll recheck this later. Er, Nino's DEF is pretty easily raped even after Afa's Drops. And she loses too much SPD from weapons. Her dodge rate that she depends on will drop, and she will die easily. Unpromoted, she even loses SPD from Fire...

Right, after this topic has matured as much as the cheese I left out for a month, I will make a 'worst weapons' topic. Sticking on topic, there you go, Nino fans. Losing speed to fire is absolutely ludicrous. And, Nino has such a boring personality, basically she is nice, kind, always helping out and nearly managed to ruin Legault, Lloyd, Linus and Jaffar in my eyes. Only Sonia has the right idea about Nino (which is a real shame): Human refuse. Garbage. I even found that ERK worked better for me than Nino. He is very useful on Lyn's mission, as the first magic user you get he is brilliant for KOing all the low resistance enemies. Also, when he comes back on the next character's mission, it is relatively early on, and at a point where he is still quite capable of destroying the enemies due to their lack of magic users. Plus, he doesn't waste experience like Nino does. 'Well, Nino wastes experience, but so does Marcus' I have heard this argument before, so before anyone might use it: Marcus is being useful. Nino just needs the experience to level up.

My Marcus is level 4 right now at chapter 19x. My Lords are all 15+, Canas is level 15, Serra is level 16, Guy is level 2 Swordmaster, Oswin is a level 2 General, Lowen is level 15, and Sain is a level 3 Paladin. I managed to distribute my EXP like this without arena abuse, too. By chapter 22, I know I'll have all of my units besides the lords at level 5 promoted. My units always balance out and end up around level 17-20 by the end. EXP balance and distribution is an important skill in this game.

Posts: 545 Group: FEFFer Member #453 Joined: October 16, 2005	But Marcus is god I usually end up relying on Vaida and Pent if my guys turn out bad =/ Which for some reason, the RNG hates certain guys (Ex: Eliwood, Matthew, Canas, Rath <.<) and makes others godly. Hell one time I had a Florina who got up every stat every level besides def and res -_-' So by level 12 (Yes, she was level 12 on Lyn's o.o She was a force to be reckoned with) she had 16 strength. Hell, she took on the final boss in Lyn's story down by herself

Saying she sucks more than Pent because her speed is lower by one while she has immensely more everything else save ONE HP and four defense. The four defense Pent has over Nino is pretty much the only thing statwise that he is significantly better than her in. But she is significantly better than Pent in so many other stats that it's rediculous.

She's not significantly better in any stat. Not even in the slightest. She gets about +1 to +3 more in a few stats, and gets crushed in DEF, CON, and AID.

He usually ends up about level 8 or 9. Pent beats Nino hands down. I'll make a poll on this. I don't overuse Marcus, my good units like Lowen, Canas, Oswin, Pent and others still get to at least 20/12 by the last chapter without arena abusing.
