List your 5 favourite bands/artists.
I'll give you my ever so amazing opinion on them.
This serves two purposes: You get to know what I think of your music (because you wanted to know) and I get to go through and listen to a lot of new music (because I always like finding new stuff.)
I'll go first, I suppose.
1.) Muse 2.) Dresden Dolls 3.) Sound Garden 4.) 33 West 5.) Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers

Remember Folkses, this are just my 100% correct truths humble opinions
Holliequ:

The Zutons do many musically interesting things. Their chromatic and dissonant bits are most especially exciting to me. The saxophone in "Why won't you give me your love" makes my heart glow with happiness. A
Unwritten Law is a little emo for my taste. The chordal pattern is predictable. The vocals are nice however, it's not whiny whiny omigosh I'm emo, which is a huge plus in my book. B
Avenged Sevenfold is heavier than the first two. They do some nice work chordally, but I don't feel their vocal melodies line up too strongly with their chords all the time. (This is interesting...I just haven't decided if I like it yet). Some of their guitar work is just flat out fantastic however. I enjoy them. B
Bad Religion: I remember eating through entire cereal boxes just to get the Bad Religion Cassette that was a prize. You win with Bad Religion. A
I'm not a big fan of Bowling for Soup. They're not great. They're not terrible. C+
Breaking Benjamin: They're good. There's really not much to say here. It's not spectacular, just good. Reminds me of Nickelback except without the voice of Chad Kruger (which in my mind is a huge plus) B+
Maximo Park reminds me of...absolutely nothing. They've got a pretty unique sound going for them, which I appreciate immensely. The things they do musically are interesting too. In "Grafitti" i love the many triplets. A for Maximo Park
Foo Fighters: I really don't think you can go wrong with the Foo Fighters. Good solid band. Not fantastic, not bad either. Their drummer drums from Tenacious D. He gets bonus points for the band. B+
Jimmy Eat World: They're okay. There's not much else to say about them. C+
Jack Johnson: Terribly overrated, but still decent. C+. I wish more of his songs varied up a little. He's mellow and chill, which is cool...but only for so long
Holliequ's overall score: B

You're all for the scary sounding stuff really.
Korn: Good stuff here, I enjoy them on an on and off basis. I give them a B-
Disturbed: Very disturbed. Again, I enjoy them on an on and off basis, but it's a far less frequent "on" than with Korn. C for them.
Rammstein: Again with the almost scary sounding. Heavy and hardcore. Seriously. I like these guys better than the first two because of their hard and driving rhythms, it pulses in your heart and makes you want to destroy things. A for Rammstein.
Fear Factory: Not a big fan. Don't know why. Their music never rubbed me the right way.
Kamelot: Same with Fear Factory. They both get C's. Musically they're fine. I can't quite place my finger on what I don't like about either of them...but trust me it's there.
Lord Emblem gets a C+ from me.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find songs by all these artisits. When I do, I'll edit. Or just tell you =3
Muse; Hysteria is just amazing. I still think they're not quite my genre of music, but they don't make me want to kill them like the Pussycat Dolls. Always a plus. B+ The Dresden Dolls; Hmm. I'm really sure what to say. The piano put me off originally, but then I listened and I realised they were good. Again, not my style of music, but still some deceent-ness in there. I give them C+ Soundgarden; The singing in Mailman is so sexy I could give it an A just for that. A
Overall: B+

Harem:

Tool - One review of this band gave said of them: "A primal sound as distinct as it is disturbing" To any listeners of heavy metal, Tool is actually surprisingly distinct from its cousins in the genre. B+ for tool. Adema - Something about Bobby Reeves' voice bothers me. I don't know what it is. That being said, Mark Chavez was better. They might've once been a B for me...but they've sunk. I don't like them any more as none of their newer stuff is particularly interesting. C Three Days Grace - They're not terrible. C Nightwish - Nightwish rubs me the right way. It rubs me in a very sexy way. Wish I had an Angel was decent, but oh man, Sleeping Sun? Yes Yes and many yes. Symphonic Power Metal for the win A Audioslave - Audioslave is not as good as Soundgarden...but Chris Cornell still sexes my ears (and the rest of me) Cochise? Hell yeah. A for you Machinae Supremacy - I'm not a huge fan. D Yoko Kanno - Yoko Kanno gets an A+. The Seatbelts rule, and everything she has composed has been wonderful. Anyone who ever gives Yoko Kanno anything less than an A+ will receive a swift kick in their genitals from me. Dot Hack Sign OST - Decent. Good background and programmatic music. Not much else. B- Edgewater - Probably one of the more innovative sounds out there. I'm not too familiar with their work, but I like what I hear. B+
Harem's Overall Score: B-
Zephyr:

The Black Mages: I needn't say more. A+ Nightwish - Nightwish wins. Symphonic Power Metal makes me happy on the inside in a way I can't describe. A Edgewater - Innovative, and not boring. I'm none too familiar with their work, but it doesn't suck. B+ Ayumi Hamasaki - I don't like J-pop that much. She's no exception. C Children of Bodom - Meh. They get a C+. They're original work is decent. Their covers are interesting. C+
Zephyr gets a nice solid B.
Yes:

Wu Tang Clan - Yes. Yes. Yes and more Yes. A Tupac Shakur - You know, I think he was a bit hyped up, but he was still a pretty damn fine artist. A- Outkast - My love hate relationship with Outkast gives it a B. They're a one trick pony with some pretty cool stuff. Nothing terribly entertaining or standout (except for that bell solo before BOB) Notorious BIG - You know, I really don't like him that much either. Mostly because I haven't really listened to him. He gets a C for now. That's subject to change. NWA: Was pretty damn good. There was something amazingly raw and wonderful about them. Even afterwards as they separated and became all the other things...I still remember NWA more prominently than the individuals. B+
Yes receives a well deserved B
Richie:

The Who: The Who wins. There was no one like them before, and I daresay no one can repeat what they did. They rock. The End. A Led Zeppelin: Overrated. highly overrated. Not as godly as people say they are, but still quite good. B Red Hot Chilli Peppers: They've been amazing since I first heard of them. I thought they had died away for good, but when Stadium Arcadium came out they proved me wrong. It's nice to see them returning to some of their older style, although songs like Parallel Universe, Road Tripping and Otherside are my favourites. A Green Day: Before American Idiot they were phenomenal. American Idiot made them somewhat mediocre, really. The songs were fine, but it didn't have the same Green Day feel to it that songs like She, Bastketcase and Misery had. Billy Joe also sounds like he needs to blow his nose. B+ Tenacious Tenacious D wins everything. I'm serious. They win. A+. Kyle Gass is a wonderful, Jack Black is hilarious, and they just incorporate so many other bands into their works its really quite nice to see. Tenacious D is a great (albeit humourous) uniting force in music. A+ They might be giants: Probably the most innovative of all the bands made mention so far. I can honestly say they've covered an enormous range of music in their time. However, when I saw them live finally, they only performed songs from their children's album. I was saddened. I felt like they'd finally sold out. What once might've been an A+ has dwindled a letter grade for that. B
Though your tastes are rather Mainstream for me, you still get an A for good choices.
