I said "Top Five"

Many of you fail horrendously at giving five.
Especially you, Firestarter.

For that, you don't get all my witty sayings and musical critiques. You just get grades. Sucks to be you, don't it?

Quote:

1) Edgewater: See above. B+
2) Refused: No, they're not up to par with edgewater. C
3) Children of Bodom: They're not the best in metal. C+
4) Jimmy Eat World: See above. C+
5) Third Eye Blind: Self Titled Album? Great stuff. Afterwards? No. C+
6) The Prodigy: No. No no and more no. D
7) Eve 6: One decent song. Only one. D
8) Black Label Society: Black Label Society wins. I knew of them before Guitar Hero. B
9) Nightwish: See above. A
10) In Flames: Fearsome, but boring after awhile. D+
11) Cauterize: Not particularly good. Not particularly Horrible either. Bearable. C
12) Exodus: I feel the same way about them as I feel about Cauterize. C
13) No Knife: I'm not fond of them. D
14) Soilwork: They're decent. C
15) Weezer: Older Weezer? Good stuff. Newer Weezer? crap. C+
16) Savage Garden: B+. they're actually rather good.
17) Jets to Brazil: Interesting stuff. not fantastic. B
18) Symphony X: I've heard what they do and I've heard it done better. C
19) Eagle-Eye Cherry: boring. this band is absolutely boring. D
20) Iron Maiden: Iron Maiden wins. A
21) Hoobastank: Can you get more whiny and emo? This is another one of those bands that I will assassinate one day. D-
22) Incubus: Someone once called Hoobastank "Incubus II" I highly disagreed. Incubus is everything Hoobastank wishes it could be. Incubus: B+
23) Amon Amarth: WHO?!?!?!?!  I. I for incomplete.
24) Aphex Twin: Aphex twin wins. A+
25) Sinergy: No. No no and a million times no. D

Now Firestarter, I thought you had a good taste in music...
ah well. I was gonna give you a C+. But you get a D+ for giving me TWENTY FIVE THINGS WHEN I ASKED FOR FIVE. D+ FOR YOU!

Inuyasha: Inuyasha has some good music to it, but none that I was overly found of (Except for Fukai Mori, that damn song got stuck in my head a million times. I enjoyed that one) The music however is not bad, and is actually really quite well done. B-

Red Hot Chili Peppers: Like I said before, I liked them awhile ago, and then they started to fade away, but then when Stadium Arcadium came out, I was glad to see them returning to a sort of older Peppers style...where it was simply just a lot more fun again.  They get an A. A for awesome.

Jimmy Eat World: I can certainly see why they're so popular. Their music is catchy and fun to listen to. Musically, however, they've never stricken me as particularly difficult, or challenging, or even that complex or interesting. C+

John Cena: I'm assuming you're talking about the wrestler/rapper. In that case, I simply must say...he's not bad, but I wish he would stick to wrestling. C-

Nova International: I haven't heard of them, nor could I find any of their music prior to this review. I for incomplete.

German Hanyou: It looks to me, that you get a low B, and that's because I'm feeling nice today. Find me something by Nova International and send it my way. GOD HELP YOU IF IT SUCKS!!!!

Ben Harper: Ben Harper>Jack Johnson. He does all of what Jack does and then some...and he does it better to boot. The musical intricacy is much nicer and, well, let's face it, more musical. B+

Counting Crows: They're pretty awesome, I'm not gonna lie. They've had some really good songs and some really meh songs. I give them a B-

G. Love: The only thing I really enjoyed from them was "Coast to Coast Motel". The music is not exceedingly catchy to me, but those people know their instruments. B-

Slighty Stoopid: I for incomplete

Eels: The blues/alternative feel has always been one of my favourites, and the eels exemplify the best of both of the worlds. A

Salokin's overall score: B

1) The Beatles

2) Fountains of Wayne

3) John Lennon (solo)

4) Tupac (Since you already did Tupac you can replace him with Eminem if you want)

5) Barenaked Ladies

The Beatles are my favourite band by far. After that it's about a 100 way tie :(

Green Day: You didn't give the "Pre American Idiot" requisite. C
Matchbox Twenty: Not terrible. I like a few of their songs...but I always need to be in a specific mood for them. C+
Senses Fail: Ugh. D-
Something Corporate: I like one song of theirs, and it grates on my nerves sometimes. If you like whiny whiny McWhinesalot and "Woe betides me, the emo of all emo" then fine. I don't. D-
Linkin Park: "My parents didn't get me baggy pants, so I'll be angry and write music about how angry I am and how things crawl in my skin or how I'm breaking habits." Actually, they can be good once in awhile. However, their music all follows the same formula. C-

Bosco's overall score: C-/D+. I still love ya, but your taste in music is akin to making fun of mentally retarded kids in swimming pools. It's just in poor taste.

Homestardude:

Quote:

The Beatles: A+. 'Nuff said. Eleanor Rigby is one of my more loved songs of theirs.  The rest of their stuff? As long as they don't let Ringo write too much they're fine.
Fountains of Wayne: Stacey's Mom ftw. The rest of their stuff? I wasn't too enthralled with. Decent band, not a standout. C
John Lennon (solo): Well. I didn't think he was on par with his ex-group, but he still wrote some wonderful songs. "Imagine" is particularly beautiful in my opinion. A-
Eminem: He's a white boy who sometimes wears little clothes. He's angry and he raps. I actually appreciate his rap because of the angry white boy that lives inside of me. He does some interesting things. I also enjoy his brand of angry. That's just me. B-
Barenaked Ladies: They've got some damn wonderful songs. Sing "one week" at me, and I will either sing along or kick you hard in the nuts, pending on my mood. "Brian Wilson" is my favourite song of theirs. Good stuff. B+

Homestardude's overall score: B+. Good job.

Punishment Divine:
Quote:

Nirvana: They've got some good songs. I still don't know about how I feel about Kurt Cobain, however. As for his voice? I haven't decided either. I have a love/hate relationship with them...by which I means I either love them or hate them at any given point in time. It's never in between. You caught me in a love phase. A- for Nirvana
2) Blind Guardian: I, surprisingly enough, like them. They're interesting enough to maintain my attention, but not so much that I would put them on a mixed cd to drive around to. C+
3) Demons and Wizards: Good Band, my friend, Good Band. I enjoy them and what they do. Again, not particularly stand-out material to me, but good solid (and interesting) stuff. B
4) The Who: I've been over "The Who" and kudos to you for liking them. A+ for you
5) The Doors: You know? I've never been a fan. They're music is nice enough, and they're good at what they do. Something in me finds it rather blasé. But I do enjoy them from time to time. C+

Punishment Divine's overall score is a B/B+ Nice job.

Bean:
Quote:

3 Doors Down: Do you really like hearing the same song over and over? I can sing "When I'm gone" and "Here without you" at the same time, and they line up perfectly. Why? They're pretty much the same song, musically. They follow the same formula for every song, pretty much, and while I might've liked them when I first heard them? I think they're musical idiots now. D-
Bad Religion: American Jesus FTW. A
Cream: Eric Clapton is amazing, and Cream was an equally wonderful group. You can't go wrong with this lot. A
Queen: Um, seriously. It's Queen.  You really can't go wrong with Queen. One of the more versatile groups I've ever heard. I've never known anyone to not rock out to Bohemian Rhapsody. Now take BR, We will Rock you, Killer Queen, Fat Bottom Girls, and Somebody to love...and note how different all these songs are? Queen = Gods among men. A
5. Led Zeppelin: Led Zeppelin still gets a B. However, listen to the electric string quartet "Bond" do their cover of Kashmir. It's four scantily clad beautiful women playing electric violin/violin/viola/cello...to Kashmir. I orgasm like 50 feet into the air every time I hear it. I'm more potent than a dolphin. Led Zeppelin still gets a B.

Bean: Really, you have a low A. But Three doors down lowers your credibility with me. B for you.

Crysta:

Quote:

Spice Girls: You know, when they first came out they were actually mildly interesting. I would've had sex with each and every one of them. But this is about music. I saw one of them live, playing Mimi in "Rent". She made me vomit ferociously a little bit. They can't sing. Their fast songs were all the same. Their slow songs were all the same. F+
Britney Spears: Why did she even try in the first place? Her music sucked. And she sucked. A lot. F
Billy Ray: No. F-
Aqua: Weirdness incarnate. Their music once interesting once in awhile. But when it was interesting, I was usually banging my head against the wall howling in pain. F
Ricky Martin: Overhyped piece of crap. His music? Seriously overplayed pieces of dog turd. He sang one good song, and it was a cover of "I can go the distance" from Hercules, except it was "No Importa La Distencia" F

Crysta's overall: Y. Y for both "Why Crytsa...why do you cause me such pain" and for "You just wait until all of these people are burned at the stake for their travesties against music and musicians everywhere."
