I recommend Cavalier. Same caps, more Mov, another weapon type. |

Yeah, but Generals have better caps and promotion bonuses including having three weapons as opposed to two. And only having one weapon will help to get an S early instead of having just a B and like a D. She'll end up more useful as a General than a Pally. Though, she's good as either, really. |

Great Knights kinda suck, I think. Their mov is only...what? one higher than Generals with lesser caps? Naw. |

Lesser caps? The difference is one or two at best, and it's not like you're going to be hitting those until near the end of the game. Also, that 1 extra Mov comes in handy. And you get the mounted move-again thing, although it's not as useful as in FE9/10. And they have access to the same weapons as the General. This is without counting the Cavalier's greater movement and general use before promotion. 7 Mov >>> 4 Mov, partial triangle control >>> lances only, more versatile class >>> only useful for defending. |

I guess it depends on if you want them to be more useful late game or early game. XP |

Great Knights are still more useful late game, unless we're talking, like, the last two chapters, when caps actually start to matter a little. Even then, the extra Mov is a huge counter-balance to that. The gap between Cavalier and Knight is more than enough to outweigh what tiny advantages Generals may have over Great Knights, IMO. |

It's ONE mov that's not that much of an advantage. If you want Mov go Pally. Generals also get Big Shield which is pretty h4x. Great Knights and Pallies don't get a skill at all. |

What? 1 Mov is 'not much of an advantage'? Try telling your General that from the backlines. Big Shield: the skill that does what Generals are supposed to do anyway. Yeah, really useful. |

Organize them so they're in the front. It's not like your in a rush or anything. The only chapter where mov makes a difference is chapter 10 which Peg Knights are great for. (aka: reach Innes fast) and the first chapter Amelia's in but Franz or Eirika both have plenty of time. You know Big Shield blocks both physical AND magic attacks, right? Which is pretty awesome if Res gets raped. It's actually saved enemy Generals on several occasions from my Mages. >_>; |

Yeah. The problem with putting them in the front is that even if you move them the maximum five spaces, you're still going to get people moving ahead. You're not in a rush, but there's no point in slowing yourself down, either. 'I know, I'll play FE8 (the shitty one) and take as long as possible!' No, I don't think so somehow. You're just as well off without the General, so why spend more time than you need? I am aware of how Big Shield works, yes. I'm also pretty sure that the Res-immunity acts on RES. Therefore, if you get screwed in Res, you'll have like a 6% chance of getting it blocked. And even if I'm mistaken and it works off Def (which for magic would be kinda wtf) . . . that is, at absolute maximum Def, still a 70% chance of it not activating. Not to mention this is General!Amelia we're talking about. Def is hardly her strong point, so she won't be capping it and getting that 30% optimum Big Shield activation. Although, admittedly, that makes it more useful when it does activate. |

That's what Tethys is for. Yeah it's activates on level, while that does make it less likely to activate, at least it can't be RNG raped. I'd rather have the ability than not, was my point. |
