I thought it'd help to have one of these topics. Anyone with spyware troubles can check this topic out and try out one of the listed spyware removers.

I'll try divide the list into sections, so people who have no clue about computers and such can get the basic, easy to use ones.

Basic User
Ad-Aware SE
AVG Anti-Spyware
Spyware Blaster
Spyware Guard
Spyware Search and Destroy

Advanced User
Hijackthis

Worthy Nominations
Crap Cleaner

Most of that is what I currently use for my spyware defense. B|
It's basic. But effective. I also use Hijackthis to remove nasty BHO files, etc.

It's an advanced program I recommend to any knowledgable PC-User.
I'm not being held responsible for the nubs that use it and delete wrong files.

Also, don't be an idiot and use Internet Explorer. Not like most people here do, but it just brings spyware in by the numbers.

Or you could start using Mac and don't get spyware. ;)

Thanks muchly. :valter: I'd create one for Virus's too but I'm too lazy.

People are free to suggest spyware removal tools for the list too, but if you can give them a place on the list, such as Basic Tool or Advanced tool, it'd be appreciated.

And they have to be GOOD ones too, no shit ones that actually let spyware on. I had to clean someones PC and he had one of them. He got like 1000 critical processes when I scanned with ONE of the spyware removal tools I listed.

I never got paid for that, so the asshole wont be getting any help from me for computer troubles, I never really knew the ass too well anyway.

I like to use ccleaner to clean my computer now and then. don't think it counts as spyware removal though.

Eh? I find the abillity to fix Registry problems, get rid of gunk files in IE from spyware and such counting. It's a tool used to get rid of crappy files slowing down you computer, and it gets rid of spyware on my computer too.

There's one easy, free way to remove spyware.

Back up all crucial data, format harddrive, replace data.

I've done that like 3 times. :wtf:

Works great, but it's a pain to back everything up.

Spyware Search and Destroy

It's Spybot: Search and Destroy. I also used to use Spy Sweeper but it sucks now because it doesn't let you do anything unless you buy it. Registry Mechanic is something unrelated to Spyware but it's also a nice program.

Just wondering do you guys usually use like 5 spyware programs or just 1 or 2? I usualy have installed just McAffe Virus Protection, Ad-Aware SE, and SpyBot. Is this enough you think?

steps in preventing spyware:

1. have a decent security service like McAfee or Norton
2. don't be a retard when it comes to what you download and what sites you visit.
