Meh, i use Internet Explorer and AdAware generally handles most things for me.

As long as i lay off the warez and serials sites it's not exactly coming in with the handfuls either... although i have a few sites blocked (unclicked auto-redirects in both cases) and my average security setting is above 'Normal'.

*shrugs* Not acting like an idiot seems to work too ^_^.

When i was a computer n00b, i used Internet explorer, and all the spyware crashed my computer...

Now i use firefox, and i have detected one spyware file in the past two months (i also started using SpyBot), Im gonna have to go with firefox for the easiest solution.

Any other suggestions to this? It's sorta nice for people to look at this if they have troubles, and I'm sure there's been at least one good addition to spyware defense/removal in the last few months.

Edit: I'm thinking I might as well just make this include virus removal tools as well as Firewalls. >_>

Thanks muchly. :valter: I'd create one for Virus's too but I'm too lazy.

People are free to suggest spyware removal tools for the list too, but if you can give them a place on the list, such as Basic Tool or Advanced tool, it'd be appreciated.

And they have to be GOOD ones too, no shit ones that actually let spyware on. I had to clean someones PC and he had one of them. He got like 1000 critical processes when I scanned with ONE of the spyware removal tools I listed.

I never got paid for that, so the asshole wont be getting any help from me for computer troubles, I never really knew the ass too well anyway.

do it cause i need it.

plz?

I have one to add. I now think of this as basically the ultimate protection tool, it's called SafeSpace.

A description of it

SafeSpace eliminates the problem of malware by creating a secure barrier between your computer and the internet, protecting you and your personal information against known and unknown malware threats. SafeSpace isolates internet facing applications in a virtual sandbox, which protects your system files and settings from unwanted changes, and blocks unauthorized access to your private files and data. When you next log off, or purge SafeSpace all virtualized changes are wiped, leaving your computer clean and malware free. Downloaded files are tracked by SafeSpace to ensure that they always open in the virtual sandbox. Tracked files can be saved to any disk location and stored alongside private files without any additional management. Surf in complete safety. Download with absolute confidence. Log off knowing your computer is clean and your personal information remains private.

If anyone wants to download it, go here: http://www.download.com/3000-2239_4-10717732.html

Also, if you come across the same problem as me, being you can't upload images, you have to go to what's called the "privacy tab", and add the folders in which you keep your images, then change the protection option of that folder or folders to Full Control. I hope this helps, and if anyone has anymore questions, I think I can help.

Edit: Almost forgot. I know this is called the "Spyware Removal Tools" thread, but this almost keeps them off completely. Otherwise, can someone just delete this post?
