I figured it was going to come up soon since we haven't had them for awhile, and I think they're generally a good idea that shouldn't be scrapped. Since it seems to be totally random thus far, I've decided to make the timeframes and awards official. I did most of the work already, I think, unless there's something blatantly wrong with it. Leon did host them last time, right? o.o Introduction The FEFF awards are a recent innovation brought into existence by Marcus in '05. The idea has been changed and expanded since then, but the general concept remains the same. Until now there hasn't been any consistent way to determine just what the awards were or when the nominations and polls were put up. Well, now there is. The FEFF Awards will be held twice every year, once every six months, on January 1st and July 1st. There may be a delay if circumstances prevent it from happening then, but that's what we're generally going to aim for. Nominations are made during the first week, polls are put up concluding that, and voting lasts throughout the next week. Awards are given within the following days afterwards. In other words, the whole thing lasts two weeks. Exceptions include ties and valid recounts, which will be given another week. The awards themselves are nothing more than titles and a way to pat good members on the back, but winners may also receive images congratulating them which they may sport in their signatures. Just to avoid conflict (because considering who it concerns, it's very well possible), wasn't it Richie who made FEFF awards years ago? Sounds great =) Personally, I'd like to see Nicest over Popular though. |

Actually the VERY first FEFF awards were brought over by me. I didn't invent it, I brought it over here from GSR. Also, a request from Fallen Sorceress, an "FEFF's Notorious Spammer" award. Basically whomever abuses chitchat the most, continuously obtains this one. ~ Kovu Edited: Aha! Nice idea. I used to hold the "FESS Awards" over on FESS, and everyone loves the idea... I'm sure people have the same mentality over here. Go for it. Good luck maintaining it! |

I actually debated whether or not it was Richie or Leon. I think Richie did the polling but I can't find the polls. ._. I know Richie will throw a hissy fit if I don't credit him and he did, I just need to find them to be sure. Marcus held the first one over here, hence why I credited him. I couldn't have known what happened over there. Regardless, he's also the type of guy who demands royalties for the smallest of things.Best Affinity may just be the same one every time. :\ Unless... there's something I don't see. I guess we can have a guild award. The only problem may be that others may not know enough to make a vote but may anyway. The spammer award would fit. Wit can probably be considered Smartest. :\ I can make banners but I quite suck at it. XD |

Wit isn't common sense. It's being perceptive and showing itself through your writing, which can fall under intelligence as well. I don't see many people busting out the hardcore knowledge on a routine basis unless you include the debates.  I can include it, but it's not an entirely different arena and I wouldn't be surprised if the smartest winner was also considered the wittiest. lol maybe a favorite debater award. |

"best" debater award is more like it. Favourite.. that shows bias. Wit is basically common sence though. Mind you a higher level of common sence. Had little to do with intelligence. One may be knowledgable yet have a slow mind. Others may not know as much but can "think on their feet". ~ Kovu Edited: Wit also can't really be seen on a forum as much as intelligence. |
