Ugh. I didn't expect Ashnard to move.  Any strategies you reccomend?I've only tried it once, I'm pretty lazy. But right now I'm bored. I was thinking that I could just be on the defensive and let the rest of the map come to me. Own all of them make sure everybodies healed, and THEN attack. But that's just a thought.Help would be appreciated. |

Ike up the mid heal with physic/fortify/ashera If Ike or your dragon has Resolve, even better. |

Make sure you have 4 units advance as bait for Ashnard to come attack, with all 4 units can survive at least one round of battle with Ashnard. I used Nasir, Boyd, Ike, and...I believe Zihark. Surround Ashnard with the 4 units. Don't attack, let your own units counter-attack him. If you got Mist she can heal and retreat out of Ashnard's ranged attack. Ashnard will go Beserk with Leharl's Medallion and go into a stronger, 2nd form after you kill him. The Laguz king you chose will come like 2 or 3 turns after Ashnard goes beserk. I strongly suggest using um...whatever Caineghis's bodyguard is. He's LV 20 and simply his look his badass. I like Naesala and Tibarn but since they appear so late in Hard Mode it's close to impossible to level them up to LV 20. In the end Surround him with Ike, Nasir/Ena, Laguz King, and another high-HP unit. Make sure Ashnard cannot double-attack a unit you send in. That's why Gatrie is bad news.
Ashnard can pretty much kill anyone in two turns of combat... |

I know Nasir and the laguz kings can damage him a bit. I forget if Boyd can damage him at all. Either way you want to surround Ashnard so that he won't move around and attack your weaker units. Only attack him with one unit that Mist can heal each turn. |

Hmm.. Then I'll try it... What units do you reccomend to surround him with (aside from Nasir, Ike, and Laguz King) that won't suck ass and die in one hit? x_x |

I forget Ashnard's stats, but any melee unit that matches Ashnard's speed. You can do the math, looking at Ashnard's attack if one of your units can survive one round with him. Surround him with anyone you're condident in using that can survive one round of Ashnard. Make sure you got Mist (since I know you're using her) behind them and out of Ashnard's range to heal them. Make sure to kill that idiototic Bryan first. If you got some kind of Bolting spell it might help. He's the only other enemy unit you should be concerned about besides the Dragons. BTW when I first faced Hard Mode Ashnard I didn't know he would move either. He killed 4 of my guys by the time I could surround him. I think he even killed Nephenee...probably not. I think that's impossible. Units that I would THINK can survive a round with Ashnard are Nephenee, Titania with Knight's Ward, Zihark (hey he did for me), Jill if she's fast enough, Oscar...Geoffrey? Really, any melee unit with decent speed. |

I know. Last time I played I think it may have actually been him who screwed me up, and not actually Ashnard. Like 400 units surround Ike including him and Ashnard. So I'll be sure to kill everybody around that area as fast as possible this time as well.

Frankly I thought Ike was impossible to kill. I did the same thing as you - lured Bryan and some Dragons & Generals with Ike. Ike couldn't kill Bryan in one round, and lo and behold...Ashnard came running after him. Ugh. I'm surprised he didn't kill him though, it was pretty close IIRC. Ashnard is the hardest boss I have played in Fire Emblem (I've only played the GBA ones), and I thought the FE7 dragon was hard... |
