Why is Karel higher than Wallace? Sure, he's got Wallace beat in terms of stats and stuff, but getting him also involves, liek, the biggest detriment in FE7. Giving up Harken. Well... Karla and her required useage of Bartre is worse, but I have a hard time seeing non-Karla pplz below Karel...

Sure he's good, but even without him, your team can still be just as good since there's plenty of other good units. Now, if it was someone like Ninian or Matthew earlygame, someone you rly can't replace, then that would be a really big deal. But it's not like that at all. And he only exists for 5-6 chapters. The gap between LvL 12 Gonzo and LvL 5 Gonzo is much less than the gap between Harken and Karel(which is the gap between a high tier and a low tier). If you can attack Elphin for "getting you a crappy Gonzales" in FE6, then Karel most definitely loses points for causing Harken to not even exist in the first place; making a high tier unit lose 7 levels >>> not allowing you to even use one of the high tier units in the first place. Not getting Harken also possibly makes people like Isadora and Lowen worse since he's a main support option for them, but considering how late those supports start anyway, this isn't a big deal. Also, I would say Brave Sword > Wo Dao. I'd say Jaffar's thief abilities are more useful than Renault's healing; you have only two other units that can use Lockpicks, neither are prepromoted, and Jaffar is arguably a better choice than them once he shows up because he can actually phyte. There's only two or three chapters which have any use for Lockpicks after Jaffar joins IIRC, but Renault is only even there at all for like 1.5 to 2.5 chapters. On the other hand, you have......counts on fingers......seven other units that can heal(though it's fair to disclude Nino from that count), one is prepromoted(so even at very worst, he has the same thing Renault does, but better), and all of them are better at healing than Renault(rofl 12 mag). Also, I have a hard time seeing Rath here. Doesn't have Dart/Farina's cost issues, has a better joining situation than Nino, and lacks the rest's problem of always sucking almost no matter what. Rath is atleast decent once he's trained and promoted, and has atleast one viable support option in Guy. The main weakness he has that I can see is that he joins underlevelled, but he DAs everything almost right away and doesn't take counters + helps the Exp Rank, so that looks like much less of an issue than what the other low tiers are putting up with.

Guy - the only unit who will realistically be using it aside from Lyn if you train her - can do without the critical, whereas for units with high CON (for example, Harken), the Brave Sword can be incredibly useful. I still think that Renault should have got HM boosts.

There are plenty of situations where a Brave Sword does more Dmg than a Silver Sword or Killing Edge. The Wo Dao only has 5 more Crit than a Killing Edge, and in exchange it even has 2 less Mt. It's barely better at all, and worse in situations where the KE's extra Mt counts.
