Soez, Homeros joins one chapter before Linoan, as a level 5 bard and he has the Elite skill. Since chapter 14 (where Homeros joins) is a defense chapter, you are going to have him behind a frontline unit, ready to raep some stuff during your turn without risk of being attacked and gain some easy levels. Homeros' stats Linoan's stats For an initial comparison for chapter 14 Gaiden (where Linoan joins) I'll put him at level 8, meaning he gained 3 levels (even tough I think he could have gained more) Homeros' advantages: HP (9.9), SKL (1.1) SPD (3.1), DEF (2.4) LCK (5.6), MOV (1) Linoan's advantage: MAG (.8) From what we can see, Homerus is easily a better unit than Linoan here. Offensively, 3.1 Spd>>.8 Mag, and defensively, Homer has more HP, DEF and Avoid. Not to mention that the HP lead means he will be fatigued less often. Furthermore, chapter 14x is Fog of war and has various pegasus knights, which thanks to flying have a wide range. They can easily target Linoan and her 16 HP and 0 Def. Only thing Linoan has here are staves, but you already have Saphy, Nanna and promoted Asvel who heal and survive better. Later on, Homeros will be promoting way earlier. Thanks to Elite, he'll reach level 20 in some 3-4 chapters. Once he promotes, he'll be able to heal and Linoan' sole advantage is lost. Also, Linoan is forced to promote at chapter 21. Homerus will be promoted since some chapters ago and still quickly gaining levels, so in the end Homeros will have a solid level lead over Linoan. In no time, both will cap MAG, SKL and SPD, making them offensive monsters. However, Homeros will mantain a very ample HP and a decent Def lead, so he is suited better to frontline than Linoan, making him the better unit. |

![]() Before I begin, I'd like to point out one thing. Homer is a bloody alcoholic, and I will prove it right now. With evidence! http://eaichu250.superbusnet.com/feartwork...twork/homer.jpg Look at him. That's almost exactly how you'd find some random drunk on the street. There's even more evidence, actually, and this one will prove it even without the help of the art! Homeros: "Oh...? Mm, nice, very nice. I'll cancel my other offers for you, babe." Nanna: "Huh? ...What are you talking about?" Homeros: "You see, this is my last night here. I want to make love to you all, but I've only got one body, so... Ow! Whoa, babe, what was that for!?" Nanna: "What are you thinking!? Even the children and the elderly are working hard to protect this city! And you're just sitting here drinking in broad daylight... You should be ashamed!" Homeros: "H-Hey, you don't have to cry. Okay, okay, I'll help you out, all right? But I'm not strong, so don't give me any heavy work..." He even made Nanna cry... He's also a pussy. Look at that, he asked to not be given any heavy work. Linoan, well, she's always eager to help. I think it's quite obvious they meant to give her the elite skill and not Homer. He doesn't deserve it.
Fiiine... I GUESS that's okay...
You're only looking at the tip of the iceberg here. I'll get to that in a bit, though.
They can indeed easily target her, and they probably will. However, Linoan won't be dying. Those pegs don't OHKO her, and she's the only one on your team currently who can use... the... RIZZIAH TOME. That's right. Rizziah ftw. The life draining spell, and she gets it. This tome makes her invincible to the pegs in this chapter. She can recover any health lost from an attack by these things, and with her extremely high counter crit, she has an extremely good chance to OHKO. Linoan can very easily gain up to 4 levels in this chapter, just by sending her out into the frontlines. Homer can do that too, but he'll probably end up dying quite quickly as his durability isn't totally up to par yet. While his durability is indeed better than Linoan's statistically, she's doing much better at surviving. Who cares if you have Saphy, Nanna and a promoted Asvel? Another healer > not having another healer. Especially one who can attack AND heal.
Linoan can quickly reach a high level as well. By the time Homer promotes... well, IF he promotes. You've probably got all your hero crests used up on your other units, like those who you're still training, such as... Mareeta. Even with Homer's elite, she has a huge level lead on him, and will hit level 20 before him. Thus, she's more likely to get a hero crest. Same can be said for quite a few others. There are so many units who can promote before Homer, while Linoan... well, her promoting at chapter 21 isn't a disadvantage. Tis an advantage. No hero crest needed means she is not fighting for one. Homer is fighting over a promo item. Linoan isn't. There's a good chance Linoan can be promoting first.
Linoan's hawt. Homer's a bloody drunk. Linoan fux Dean. Homer gets a slap across the face. Linoan wins. Even if Homer was on the frontline, he wouldn't stay there for long. He's not that durable, really. Linoan has a decent number of avo over him, and can still be using Rizziah when she needs it. Maybe if she decides to spend a few turns on the frontline. I might as well point out that Linoan also grants and recieves a generous support bonus from Dean. She gives him +20 Avo, while she gets +10 Avo from him. That's huge. She also gets 10% from Leaf for a total of +20 avo. Ftw. Homer simply recieves 10% from Nanna and gives nothing in return. Fucking selfish... |

"That's almost exactly how you'd find some random drunk on the street." The key word in your statement is almost. *Presents evidence* ![]() That, Snpie, is how a drunk guy looks. There are various differences between Homeros and that random drunk man... -The drunk man has old, dirty, ugly clothes. Homeros doesn't. -The drunk man is asleep. Homeros is awake and his expression reflects that he isn't drunk. -The drunk man has a bottle in his hand. Homeros doesn't. Homeros may be somewhat alcoholic, but he has more style than most alcoholic people out there.
Various things I can deduce from this passage. -Sex is one of the most wonderful things in the world. Homeros is giving up sex in order to help your army. The average person wouldn't do that. -Homeros has a nice taste in women. Nanna is beautiful. -Homeros doesn't like to work, but he is fully capable of doing heavy work as proved by his statistics. He is just lazy. Lazyness is a virtue. -Nanna likes Homeros, as she offers him a 10% support bonus. If Homeros makes her cry and she still wants to support him that only proves that Nanna is a masochist. -Homeros didn't deserve Elite? Well, life isn't fair. Sucks to be Linoan.

First issue with Rizziah is getting it. The Rizziah tome is located in chapter 14, in a village that is far away from your location. In order to get it and not die against the massive hordes of enemies thar, you need to use Warp&Rescue. Wasting 1 use of both Warp and Rescue so Linoan doesn't die>>>Not needing that to survive. Also, under similar circumstances, you get Dean's Dragon Spear in chapter 14 as well. I'd much rather use my useful staves to get Dean's weapon. Now, speaking of chapter 14x, Homeros can kill an enemy during your phase, and playing your cards right, you'll leave him in a safe location so that during the enemy phase he can kill some enemies (he has the same counter crit as Linoan) and don't die. And he is gaining moar experience than Linoan, thanks to Elite. If you decided to not waste your Warp and Rescue, Homeros is doing waaay better. As for healing, Saphy and Nanna can use higher level staves, and Saphy, Nanna and Asvel heal for more HP than Linoan. Linoan is only 4th in priority when it comes to healing. Not to mention you don't want her to heal much because she'll get fatigued. Then after 4 or so chapters when Homeros promotes, Linoan will be 5th in healing priority.
lol, no. There are more 15 Hero crests in the game (and a shop that sells them). And several useful prepromos who don't need one, like Dean, Delmud, Pahn, Sety/Cyas and Xavier, and Leaf and Lara who have free promotions. There is definitely enough Crests so Homeos promotes before Linoan. Linoan's late promotion puts her in a level disadvantage compared to Homeros.
Homeros doesn't have to worry about being attacked thanks to 1~2 range, so he's safe during your turn, and can endure 2 or so attacks during the enemy phase. As he gets very fast level ups, before long his high HP and Avo will ensure his durability. Linoan has more Avo? I don't think so. Homeros starts with 32 Avo, Linoan with 26. Both will cap speed, both have the same Lck growth, but Homeros has better base and level lead. Linoan never beats him in avoid. Plus, tomes always weigh you down, affecting their avoid, so Homeros HP and DEF leads will prove quite significant. Homeros receives 10% support bonus from Nanna, but Nanna has Charisma, so that's a 20% bonus for Homeros whenever they are near each other. As for Linoan, Dean usually has to make use of his flying skillz and get away from Linoan, so she can lose that bonus quite often. |
