I've failed to come up with something witty, so I hope you will enjoy this filler text instead.

Jaffar.

Becaue he is, IMO, the only Assasin that should exist in this game.

Assuming they all promote, though, I'd say Matthew.

i would say matthew. you get him very early in lyn's mode and if you have him at a desent level by the time you get to hector's mode, he become very handy in the early chapters.

If you say "assassin" then Matthew and Legault kind of auto-fail because that assumes they wasted 50k, and thus place themselves at the same level of Dart and Farina. So that would make Jaffar the best.

Matthew should promote because you can easily afford it, the benefit to the Experience rank is awesome, and Matthew's supporters get to be better in the lategame.

I hate Assassins with a fiery passion, but I have to agree that promoting Matthew is far from a bad plan >_>

No thanks. Promoting Matthew is even costlier than promoting Dart, because usually Matthew isn't even part of your endgame team of x people (say, 12) while Dart is, so you are basically turning a unit that normally doesn't cost anything into a 50k extra costing part.

That ruins any hopes you have of using your stat boosters at all and has you cut down on weapons you normally could use freely: Brave Sword/Bow/Lance/Axe, Warp staff, Wolf Beil, Rapier, Luna. That just lowers your efficiency by way too much. Matthew shouldn't really be supporting anyone but Guy anyway, and Guy is still doing equally as well if Matthew is capped and even works when Matthew isn't near him (which is often enough).

I'd rather just give Matthew's spot to another healer or something to boost EXP, or use Nino a little more.

I almost always bring Matthew to the final chapter. He is a great asset to Guy, and possibly Oswin/Hector. He may not be the unit taking on the dragon or killing Lloyd or Linus, but usually you don't need a full team to do that. Half the units I bring hardly do anything. Also, he has silencer, so not all hope is lost for him OHKOing. He can potentially have a 32% chance to activate it, and attacks twice per turn. Even if he doesn't activate he can still do decent dmg with a crit.

I've seen that topic before, but posting a link to it in itself isn't really an argument against my case. Everything I said is true.
