Snackoos = <3. It's science! Posts: 20,952 Group: Advisor Member #40 Joined: June 9, 2005	Okay, the same rules in every other debate apply here, so there's no need for me to repost them. They're linked in various places on various forums. Here's the experiment: One unit, two people debating for that unit. Let's see how that goes. It will be way less tl;dr than debating two units per team. No units are banned, but if misbalance is noticed, that can change. This means even Tibarn is fair game. Arguements like "Ike has to kill Ashera" and "Geoffrey has to seize in a chapter" are moot since those are story events, of course. Each team will make three total posts, just like a normal debate, and either person can post. However, it's required that the same person doesn't write up every post, and that teamwork is shown. We'll be taking up to eight teams, and we need a total of seven judges. Judges Inui SwordsAreShiney Participants Inui and Omni: Micaiah Sentenal and SwordsAreShiney: Haar Eclipse and Scotu: Ike Bizox and Sety: Titania Beta and Ghor: Zihark Eltoshen and Nintend-Fan: Tibarn Tiltyu and Mekkah: Gatrie Mr. Stiff and Hakado: Mia

That arguement was had long ago, and the first tier debaters all came to an agreement that such arguements are considered story events and not part of a unit's utility. If you argue such a point, it will not be considered by the judges, and if it's countered by your opponent it will count against you. I would have teamed with you, but Solid and I have been wanting to team for a while, IIRC. If we try teams at FEP, I'll team with you if you want. Try to find a good partner. Ask Yzarc, I guess.

Explain to me how killing a freaking boss is a story event (oh yeah, everyone did not agree with you, btw). Yzarc hasn't played FE10 to my knowledge.

The majority of FE debaters are good with stats, not concepts. That's even true for most of the so-called elite. I haven't debated the FE4 tier list, or FE4 at all, but if that was truly a factor, then I have serious doubts about the list's validity.

If someone makes a case that, using FE7 for my own comfort in arguing this, Hector is the best unit in Hector Hard Mode because he is the only unit who can seize, thus win the game for the player, it stands in the debate unless the opponent counters it with better logic. It seems foolish to eliminate arguments from debate because I fail to see any "trump" argument in FE debating.

I just said that really weak debaters could still win against really strong debaters using that argument, so you're not necessarily right in saying that it's a "poor argument." Story events don't add to the efficiency of your team; they occur the exact same way no matter way the player does in the actual game. If something a character does doesn't make your team more efficient, it has no validity in debates.
