Heh...I forgot you can promote to different classes, rather than Mage>Sage. I'll have to promote Ewan soon. Knoll's fun, just.....His stats leave much to be desired. You really don't need a dark magic user from my experience, but... I still want one, because they seem fairly rare. |

Ewan and Knoll are the only options pre-Creature Campaign. And not counting glitches. |

Summoner for sure because he summons the best "phantoms" in the game, with the exception of Lyon of course ^^. His low Cons and speed growth makes him a poor druid IMO. And Ewan can make a brilliant Druid. |

he has crap for defense and luck but you simply can't pass up 2 phantoms(ewan and knoll). They are more useful and fun then you think they are. With phantoms having an equal level as the summoner, 1 hp (which distracts bosses), and the +10 exp for summoning them, they are just pure awesome. Plus since you can summon about anywhere and get that 10exp you can put the random number generator in your favor and get the stats you want without battling. |

First off, that’s a necro-post, might wanna watch that in the future. Secondly, Phantoms are Knools only saving grace. His stats suck. RNG abuse isn’t exactly a viable tactic, since it makes everyone good, but even if it was, it only makes Knoll look WORSE since it’s more annoying to do much with his fail defensive growths. Ewan’s Phantoms are also the weakest ones, and it’s really not worth it. If you must make Ewan a Dark user, don’t waste his stats and go Druid. Knoll isn’t truly bad, since no char in SS truly is, but he’s still not worth it. |

I leveled him up to 20 once so he could support with Natasha and it opened up my eyes to how truely terrible he was in my game. He got next to no gains in defence, speed or luck and with mediocre resistance that my pegasus knights topped resistance. I would not waste a guiding ring on him but maybe he turned out better in your game than mine. If you want a dark magic user i would use Ewan, because all of his stats will be frankly amazing, or you could hack |
