Duessel vs. Myrrh!

Yay!

Didn’t want to make this tl;dr

Duessel joins earlier than Myrrh. This is already w1n. Myrrh is the one of the last characters you get in the game, which is bad. Even on Eirika Route, where he joins late, he joins before Myrrh, which is really bad. Myrrh also joins with horrible bases and although she gets some bonuses from the Dragonstone, this still hurts her.

Duessel has much better weapons. He has complete Weapon Triangle Control, he can use Killer Weapons, he can attack from a distance, he can use slayer weapons, he can use weapons that are effective against armoured units, mounted units and monsters. He also has infinite weapons, whereas Myrrh has only one weapon with 50 uses and that one is only effective against monsters and gives some stat boosts that aren’t good enough to give her better stats than Duessel. And Duessel might have doubling problems, but then he can use Garm to gain extra Speed.

Duessel actually has supports. Myrrh doesn’t. From his supports, A Ephraim/B Cormag, he gains 5 Att, 2.5 Def, 2.5 Res, 25 Avoid, 12.5 Hit, 12.5 Crit and 12.5 CEvade. That is full Att and full Avoid, which is pwn. And he gains a nice Defense boost to boost his great durability to an even higher level. If Myrrh supports somebody, then it’s Saleh, because Dozla sucks pretty badly and Ephraim has Duessel and Eirika. And Saleh also isn’t great and not very likely to be played. So IF she supports Saleh, she gains 3 Att, 15 Hit, 15 Crit and 15 CEvade. And then it starts very late, so if it even ends, it ends in the final chapter or so. Duessel’s supports actually end fast enough, especially on Ephraim Route.

Duessel has better offense and durability.

35 Duessel, B Ephraim/B Cormag
Killer Axe: 35.9 Att, 14.1 AS, 111.8 Hit, 52.4 Crit - - 46.9 HP, 57.6 Avoid, 22.2 Def, 13.1 Res, 19.4 CEvade

1 Myrrh
Dragonstone: 31 Att, 5 AS, 127.5 Hit, 21.5 Crit - - 15 HP, 13 Avoid, 17 Def, 27 Res, 3 CEvade

Okay, it’s clear. Myrrh is pwnd on offense. Myrrh never doubles. Myrrh even gets doubled! That’s bad. Duessel also has a decent chance to Crit. Durability is also clear, I guess. 15 HP with only 13 Avoid = lol  And 17 Defense and overkill Resistance don’t change that. And enemies actually have a chance to crit her, and that’s bad. Really bad.

40 Duessel, A Ephraim/B Cormag
Killer Axe: 39.6 Att, 15.6 AS, 116.3 Hit, 55.9 Crit - - 51.2 HP, 66.6 Avoid, 24.9 Def, 15.1 Res, 22.9 CEvade
Garm: 48.6 Att, 20.6 AS, 126.3 Hit, 25.9 Crit - - 51.2 HP, 66.6 Avoid, 24.9 Def, 15.1 Res, 22.9 CEvade

14 Myrrh
Dragonstone: 42.7 Att, 13.4 AS, 151.5 Hit, 27 Crit - - 31.9 HP, 33.7 Avoid, 34.8 Def, 30.9 Res, 6.9 CEvade

Duessel’s offense is better. He has better Att with Garm, better Crit with a Killer Axe and always has better AS. And Myrrh’s Hit lead is overkill. Durability, well, Myrrh probably pwns Duessel here. But Duessel is better against the Draco Zombies, because their attacks negate Defense, so Duessel wins with his massive HP, Avoid and CEvade leads.

Duessel > Myrrh.

Earlier joining time does not consist of win only. It also means you are used for longer and therefore used resources for longer. Duessel, especially, relies on resources to kill reliably, because his AS is...ass. He needs Silver/Slayer/Killer to have a shot at killing because he can't double for shizzle.

Myrrh won't double much either, but she doesn't need to, because the only weapon she uses is super fucking powerful. More importantly, it's free and it's hers only, while Duessel shares these weapons with others and they cost ping ping or are limited to begin with. So Duessel joining the team makes other units worse, while Myrrh is only a great addition.

For supports, lol @ pretending Duessel is guaranteed those supports. You are pretending:

- Duessel is getting A Ephraim. For that to happen before Myrrh joins, you have to go on Ephraim route. And then, Ephraim has options with Tana or a cool triangle with Kyle and Forde. The former comes earlier and the triangle starts waaay earlier, so he'll want that more. Or if you go Ephraim route, Myrrh has about as much of a shot at Ephraim as Duessel does - the difference is only one chapter, as while Duessel is slightly faster to a C, Myrrh's growth with Ephraim is faster.
- Cormag is always in play and supporting Duessel. Too bad Cormag flies off and also has Tana, Natasha, Seth and Arthur, pretty sure at least one or two of them have room for him. Plus, again for that support to build up before Myrrh joins, it has to be Ephraim's route. Fact that Cormag comes later on Eirika's route and is therefore less likely to be played doesn't help either.

Then, you are massively underrating Saleh. He's a Sage with cool weapon levels and decent bases, plus he hits Res and has 1-2 range. If Lute isn't in play (she isn't always), he's the best Excalibur candidate. Or, if Arthur isn't there (or he goes Bishop), he has a C in Light that he can build to S so he can use Ivaldi. He's only one level away from using Physic which rules. Staves in general are very good. Saleh is also a great and quick support for Gerik, especially on Eirika route.

Eirika route Duessel looks like this:

30 Duessel using Killer Axe, C Ephraim
Offensively: 30.1 Atk, 12.6 AS, 97.3 Hit, 38.9 Crt
Defensively: 38.6 Avoid, 42.7 HP, 18.4 Def, 10.1 Res, 10.9 Crt Avo

Myrrh using Dragonstone
Offensively: 31 Atk, 5 AS, 127.5 Hit, 21.5 Crt
Defensively: 13 Avoid, 15 HP, 17 Def, 27 Res, 3 Crt Avo

Myrrh's already winning raw attacking power without doing anything yet. Def is a very close edge and Myrrh is invincible against Mag and status staves.

Ephraim route Duessel could have a little higher level, but the supports aren't a guarantee at all. To effectively measure them taking into account their likeliness, you'd have to divide them by 2 or something.

Also, for Crt avo, there's very few enemies with reasonable Crt out there and by the time Myrrh gets to them she can OHKO, plus her stats have grown.

Speaking of growing, why is Duessel now capped out in your next comparison? Is this final chapter or something? Duessel's fighting is mediocre to bad and he needs like 10-20 promoted enemies to grow a level. Myrrh grows by killing two unpromoted enemies, or one promoted one. She's super efficient. If anything, she's more likely to finish leveling than Duessel, because her class gets an EXP bonus.

Anyway, let's compare them :properly: for Ch20 or something? I'll assume somewhat realistic supports: B Saleh/C Ephraim for Myrrh, B Cormag/C Ephraim for Duessel.

16 Myrrh
Dragonstone - 47.5 atk (79.5 against Monsters), 14.7 AS, 169.9 hit, 42.6 crit - - 38.9 avo, 34.5 hp, 35.0 def, 31.5 res, 19.5 critavo

38 Duessel
Killer Axe - 36.5 Atk, 15 AS, 109.5 Hit, 45.5 Crt - - 55 avo, 49.5 HP, 23 Def, 13.5 Res, 17.5 Crt Avo
Garm - 45.5 Atk (65.5 against Monsters), 20 AS, 119.5 Hit, 15.5 Crt - - 65 Avoid, 49.5 HP, 23 Def, 13.5 Res, 17.5 Crt Avo

As you can see, Myrrh wins offense handily if Duessel doesn't get Garm, and even if he does Myrrh still has more power. She OHKOs everyfuckingthing. It is impossible for her to die thanks to a massive 35 defense and 31 resistance, not even these ugly Gorgons do shit to her. And while Duessel has trouble with dodgier monsters such as these fast doggy thingies, Myrrh has 100 hit on everything. She's amazing.

Draco Zombies don't OHKO Myrrh and she wins offense against them, and since nothing else can harm her and you don't face more than one Draco Zombie at once ever, Myrrh wins. Myrrh is also much better against Lyon.

Also, you know what's interesting? Myrrh's mobility >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Duessel. Duessel gets completely owned by terrain of any kind because he's a Great Knight. Myrrh is the complete opposite: she ignores huge ass obstacles like mountains and rivers. In Ch17, Ch18, Ch20 and final, this means she can go pretty much anywhere and rape to stop bottlenecks. Amazingly versatile.

Eh, it kinda looks like I didn't address your points because I didn't quote shit, but I rly did as you can see.
