Ah, yes...after play testing canas on my third playthrough for the first time, I've decided that he's better than Knoll by a longshot. at level 13 he had 22 Speed, which I think is incredible for a Druid. A Support with Erk also helps. Anyone got any ideas for me on my next playthrough? Such as only certain affinities or weapon types and the such? |

I'd like to know how you get Canas to support Erk. Do you need to recruit McCartney for it? |

I usually like to use Canas. Yeah, his stats are a little below average, but his defense is a little better than your average magic user. Between that and judicious use of the Nosferatu tome, he's actually pretty hard to kill. Of course, the fact that Dark magic is generally good is perhaps his biggest saving grace. He's the only other person in the game (besides Athos) that can use the awesome Luna/Nosferatu tomes. |

Canas is fairly cool I think, just takes a while to get him doubling and his supports are scarce (Bartre isn't that great and Pent is late), but beyond that, I am a sucker for magic users and staves. Shame Nosferatu is so damn heavy in this game, unlike in FE6. Awesome Anima affinity <3 |

Yes, he was promoted at 20. The only units I rush to promote are the Healers, and, I only use 1 promotion item on Priscilla usually. She almost S's Staves by the time she gets to level 10 anyways. I just wish you could buy Nosferatu/Lunas. I watched a vid where Canas took out the Dragon at full health with Luna, 1 crit and 1 normal attack. Although, I believe he was jacked up on supports. |

I think that Canas is a good unit however he does come underleveled compared to Lucius or Erk. however he is extremely useful for being the only dark magic user his stats are above average and defence is much better than those of other magicians. Sadly I dont think you get enough luna or nosferatu tomes (and also they are HEAVY)

How does using Dark Magic make him any more useful than say, a regular mage? Its not like Dark Magic pwns or anything. |

Dark tomes have some unique features... Nosferatu drains health, while Luna ignores Res and has a crit bonus, making it ideal for killing those high Res/Def bosses. The usefulness of these traits is arguable (after all, if your foe is dead, then how he got dead doesn't matter) but they are still unique to dark magic. There isn't any anima equivalent. |

His Defense is still crappy overall, it's only like 2-3 higher, and he actually loses to Pent iirc, and then Lucius gets +5 Def and Erk gets somewhere between +3 and +5 while he needs Bartre in play and Pent to be free to get his supports. I do think Canas vs Lucius could be argued though, given how much Light magic sucks. |

In general, yes. But it's not significant enough to compensate for being heavier (to the point where the D-rank tome weighs you down), being weaker and, although no one really cares, more expensive. Crt: Lightning: 5 Shine: 8 Divine: 10 Aura: 15 Thunder's 5 Crt alone makes the difference minimum, and Luna 's 20 actually beats all of it. The only tomes that have somewhat near significant Crt are so limited in availability that you will never really say "I love Light magic, it crits so often!". For a comparison, supports take up 10-15 Crt for most units and 25 for these lucky bastards, S-rank alone gives you 5, a decent Skl stat should give somewhere between 7 and 14 depending on what unit you are at what point, etc. |

20/10 Lucius with A Serra and B Raven has 50 Crit with Aura if he has S Light. Not that it'll matter for long, but still. |

He'd also have supershitty AS, and only 25 Crt of that comes from Aura. Not to mention you get Aura only approx half the time (prolly more since Kenneth route is the better one)... |
