If by bias you mean "By the time Mack joins your team, Kieran, Oscar, and Titania are already kicking ass in both usefulness and statistics, and are on their way to being well supported, and I simply don't need a 4th/5th cavalier at this point." I, personally, feel that you only need 3 cavaliers at most on a reasonably sized team. (Normally I wouldn't take more than 2, but Titania is very good and is already halfway to 20/20, so it's not a big deal to level her). He also directly competes with Astrid, who joined the mission before, and is far easier to level up thanks to Paragon. The only time I would use Mack is if I specifically planned on using him from the beginning; I wouldn't use Kieran, maybe, (Oscar would be hard not to use, you kind of need him for the early missions of the game) and leave a slot for Mack. |

So now there's a problem with using four of the best class? |

Huh, where was it established that Paladins are the best class? They have great manueverability and weapon selection, but no more so than Wyverns or Pegasus. Foot units excel in specific areas more so than cavalry; Swordmasters will have better evasion than them, and better offense. Sages will be better at attacking high defense units, and have much better attacking ability at range. Paladins are excellent because they are very well balanced, but they are still just one part of a balanced team. As I said. I, personally, find it boring to use more than 3 cavaliers. I like to use a variety of units; you have many classes to choose from, why not use a few more of them? Flying units, such as Wyverns and Pegasi, certainly compete with Paladins for "best class" as well, and you will need at least a few casters/healers on your team. It is a good point to think about though, Ghor. Should I put a General on my team just for the sake of having a General, in a game where Generals are mediocre and the Paladins are actually better at Defense? I'll have to rethink my team a bit. |

So, because you don't like using that many of a class at one time, other people don't either? |

I'm a little confused here. Are you offended that I don't like to use 4 paladins o_O? The reasons I have presented so far are my personal reasons for not using Makalov. I suggested a few other factual reasons merely to prove that I wasn't biased against Makalov as a character/person, but rather because of his joining time, supports, and initial circumstances. I related the experience because other people might find my reasons for disusing the character applicable to their own game. If you want to use 4, 5, or every Paladin in the game on one team, then by all means, please do so if you find it suits your playstyle, or is fun. |

No, you responded to my point about Makalov with something along the lines of "using more than 3 of one class is boorrring". |

Not only was it a response to Othin/Hunter Gohr, but I think you missed the post where he gave real arguments against Makalov. >__>

Ah, I apologize if that sounded unnecessarily snide. That wasn't my intention. To reiterate, I, personally, find that it is a bit overkill to have more than 2 or 3 or any one class on the team at any one time, but if a team of many similar units works just as well, then there isn't any reason not to do so. |

Its not that, its just that Kieran, Oscar, & Titania fill the slots for palaldins. Both of them are better then Makalov, so why would I use a unit when I've got better choices? |

I'd rather use Oscar, Kieran, and Makalov than Oscar, Kieran, and Soren/Brom/Zihark/Neph/etc. |

So your saying you'd rather use Makalov instead of awesome units like Soren or Zihark? |

Makalov is better than both Zihark and Soren, so that shouldn't come as a surprise. And there's no fixed amount of slots for Paladins in games with no Knight's Crests, and considering that Paladins are the most versatile class, as usual, there's no reason not to bring all the good ones. Just because you prefer to have a variety of classes doesn't mean it's a fact that using more than x units of one class is bad. |

Makalov's not that good. Soren & Zihark are two highly ranked units. I don't see how Makalov can compete with that.
I usually use the same units each time I play the game. If there was more space, I'd probably use Makalov, or at least give him a chance. And although paladins are versatile, that dosen't mean they're the best class. What determines a units worth is its stats. |
