The next game is a FE1/3 remake. There were no support conversations in those games right? Since obviously they are going to make supports for the new game, we'll get to read some interesting stuff. |

Supports were fine they way they were. I don't think there was any need to change it. |

I kind of like the customization options you have in RD. It allows for more flexible team design that can change at any point, and can be different for different characters to help them fill different roles. The real only issues is that previous FE games had really nice support convos and such, and that you don't have this in RD. RD just has a different system that has a different purpose as a whole really. |

I think they should keep the customization while making the conversations better. |

The conversations gave me massive lulz, plus I got to use whoever I wanted to. RD's support system >>> |

Whilst this would be fucking awesome, it would be pretty unreasonable to make 14910 conversations (IIRC there are 71 characters?). Although, it would be cool if they made some custom ones for common supports that they'd expect people to do (about the same #'d they'd use in previous FE games). |

If they just lowered the number it would be fine. |

I didn't even think about it... that's a good point. I'm really excited about all the possibilities of adding "modern" FE features back into the FE1 remake. All the refinements over the life of the series that make it really polished. "Supports were fine they way they were. I don't think there was any need to change it." The problem is, Radiant Dawn is quite a bit more chaotic than any FE before it. What I mean by that is that units tend to join and leave more often than previous games, so it can be hard to predict when a particular unit will be available to you (without having played the game a few times, and even then, you'd have to plan ahead). This makes it harder to plan support pairings. In some ways, this made the new support system necessary (no fixed supports) because you could end up in a situation where a unit has no units it can support with around otherwise. I like scotu's idea... some hybrid of the two systems would be nice. Of course, then most people would ignore the "generic" conversations to get the more interesting "full text" supports, perhaps defeating the point, lol. |

idk. I don't think it would defeat the point. The people who'd like a game with only a few supports can just do it that way, and get full fleshy dialog; the people who don't care as much, and are just going to make use of the more dynamic support system still can, and will probably end up seeing some of the fleshed out dialog anyway. |

Well, weapon levels are back, no reason to see why (by now) a Fire Emblem staple, support conversations, would not be back. And while I'd agree that having support conversations > not having them (I like FE for it's story/character development), FE:RD kinda required the "everyone-support-everyone" system. It's as if they created the story and levels first before making the supports Custom conversations between some people and generic conversations between others kind of degrades the quality in peoples' views. Nobody is going to see it as "hey, it's best of both worlds", but rather as "it's half-finished"... |

This is going off topic a bit, but I wonder if they will include Radiant Dawn/PoR-esque features in Fire Emblem DS, like Bonus Exp, Shove, a Home Base, by-chapter supports, and weapons using Str for encumbrance, rather than Con? I guess I'm curious if it will be more similar to the console FE's or the older, more minimal GBA FE's. |

I didnt really like that fact the the supports dont do much to the story now. However they do boost a lot in tactics of the game...I hope that in the DS fire emblem, they develop story line AS WELL AS using the support system in Radiant Dawn |
