This is just a topic for people to discuss what difficulty they play PoR on and why.

I beat the game first on easy, twice on normal, and once on hard, in that order; I'm on ch. 27 my second Hard Mode playthrough right now. I couldn't exactly tell you why--I'm not sure what I want to play (if I do) after I beat this playthrough.

Probably Easy for the massive EXP+Bonus EXP, which is helpful for using a lot of people (which I tend to do) and seeing all the supports (which I'm doing for whatever reason). Also I'll try Fixed mode, as I haven't before.
Check out the new FESS, featuring...stuff!

First time I played normal, then like 3 hard mode games. I didn't notice much improvement in the difficulty between the two modes, to be honest. It's incredibly easy either way.

One easy playthrough, two or three normal ones (completed, some started but abandoned later), then one and a half on hard (playing FE10 rather than finish that second HM playthrough).

If I got into the game again I'd definitely play HM. I thought I'd suck at it (hence the amount of NM playthroughs), but actually it was fairly easy except for the odd chapter (I remember 9 being a bitch).

Last time I played Easy, but that was for Radiant Dawn data transfer purposes. Normally I either play on Normal or Hard, depending on how I feel.

Played twice on Normal, once on Hard. On Hard I let some characters go and at the beginning of the game it is exilerating when the boss in Chapter 8 says..."Hmm...has such a poor army number. Then Ike says as he engages battle with the boss he says... As long as I draw the last ounce of my breath, I will stop at nothing to save this world. This happened after I let like 5 characters go at the beginning of the game. The story does change if you let some characters go in the beginning. Ike also says throught half the game that he has a low army soldier number and that it will be tough to traverse through this war. But, the Hard Mode wasn't much of a problem as soldiers can be easily replaced and characters like Rhys and Boyd make great sacrifices if you lose them. Ashnard is most fun to fight in the Hard Mode as he will absorb the power of the madallion and that you have to battle him again with slightly stronger stats, which would probably be roadkill in the Maniac Mode!

+20 HP and +5 Str is not slight. Thats without the other raised stats.

I've done easy 3 times, normal twice, and hard once. Doing easy/normal is so fun because you can just break through the enemy lines without strategy.

If i said i skipped easy, then I'd be lying. Naturally, i play once on each difficulty, if I'm not lazy.

played on hard

I only played normal the two times I did for playthrough contest/tournament things. Unlike Kratos, I did notice pretty substantial differences in difficulty, at least for the early chapters.

I played the first couple of chapters on easy, lol'd at Titania gaining 10 exp per kill, and turned it off.

I played once on Easy, twice on Normal, and now going through my first hard playthrough. Easy is fun because of the high amount of EXP you can get and you can watch your units level up rapidly. Normal is just easy without the added exp bonus, as in the exp you get per kill. I'm so far not seeing a large difference in difficulty from normal and hard, but the beginning chapters were definitely harder, and sort of force you to use Titania. But as your characters level up, the game gets slightly easier, but I haven't finished it yet.
