That would ruin the PvP balance of the entire set up, maybe? |

You mean that people who enjoy their safety net so much would get their ass handed to them by the people who took risks? |

Thus ruining the competitive factor of end game with disproportionate stats? Last I recalled the idea was to win with strategy and adaptation rather than lucky level ups. |

Strategy involves taking risks and them paying off. It would require more strategy to take down a lucky unit than it would if everyones level ups were standardized. |

I don't like the idea of losing to people who got lucky, sorry. The game has plenty of luck in hit/miss as it is. |

Linoud's point was that it would be more of a challenge to take down such a lucky unit. Not to mention the fact that the likelihood of all of a person's units getting RNG blessed is slim. You also have to consider the other end of the spectrum. Having one great unit and a bunch of other sub-par ones is not a strategical advantage by any means. |

In every FE bar 9/10, that didn't matter to you. Now that you've got the choice to have a safety net, you don't want to go the old way and just go with luck? Plenty of Luck in crit/hit already? Most of the time it's just people with WTD that miss. People won't instantaneously get a ridiculously blessed character with no faults. Caps are there to ensure no unit goes completely godlike. I don't like the idea of people just finding out the best growth rates to get the best build and just sticking with it and winning every match so the game becomes stale. I think if a player wants to take a risk and potentially get a shit character or a good character, they should be able to. |

Actually, I don't play FE7 or 8 now that I have the beauty of fixed growths in 9. I didn't really like the randomness of the growth even before 9 came out. Really, I only played for supports. |

Keep in mind that in FE, you're playing against a computer, so the fact that you get lucky and have blessed units really only means that you'll take down enemies that much later, and it doesn't mean that you'll have massive advantages over everyone else.
There isn't one best growth rate for every class, though, and that's where the strategy comes in; do you want unit x to be bulky and let their offense be mediocre, or should you have through-the-roof offense, but die in two hits?
And ruin all notions of balance in the game? Hell no. |

If your going to promote this absolute balance thing, I expect you'll be doing what Guild Wars does and be constantly balancing everything out, even when ultimate builds are created. You'll be nerfing those, buffing others, adding on new classes/skills every expansion pack/6 months. Because, every game has to have balance. Mrite? Luck never plays a factor in games. Certainly not in say Fire Emblem where you could Critical or miss, where you could get a 0 levelup or a full levelup. Guild Wars did the balance thing extremely well. I hope you can pull off something to it's level, what with the constant tweaking. |

Linoud: You won't be getting your personal wants in this, if you want a random level up game, make one. The preference in the creation of this one was not. |

Someday, you'll see one. Sassy was taking suggestions for this game. Hence why I made it. If it's not implemented, no big deal. You forget, Psio, that when someone wants suggestions, some people actually suggest things. Some things are taken aboard, when others are not. |
