Now we're wandering into the conspiracy theory marketeering. Do you have proof of oil companies paying off car designers to not release fuel efficient vehicles or is this paranoid speculation based on prediction of odds? There are some insanely fuel efficient cars out there, we already know this. But for the most part, they are experimental, and as of yet very expensive to produce individually. It wouldn't be such a big problem if they were inexpensive to mass produce, but they aren't. Supposedly, Exxon-Mobil's profits are mostly going to expenses and research and exploration for new oil resources (lol). But I really don't buy that crock of... you know. How do you make such an insane profit during these tough times, hm? It could be because oil is a commodity and, as of yet, quite necessary. But profit is... well... the money made after expenses. |

Exxon-Mobile keeps a consistent 10% profit margin. If they made 0% profit, it would still be fucking expensive. |

Here in the US, investigate a possible monopoly of oil by oil companies. If there is expose them, then force the UN to take action against it. Next, release the plans that are rumored to have been bought up by the government and the oil companies, forcing them to be able to create more fuel efficient engines. While doing this, I would be focusing on actually putting money into alternate energies that don't cause world hunger. And try to put a massive solar plant in the major deserts for more energy too. Just some things I would do for starters. PS: Foreign cars actually aren't that much better. Don't forget, the US has some of the toughest standards in the world. Its just our current 'leader' is part of an oil family, so they are doing a happy dance and don't give a damn while they are getting rich But one thing you can prove is some bull from oil companies. In cities that had good public trollies that ran of electricity, companies like Ford and Bridgestone bought then destroyed trollies in cities, and then replaced them with buses that guzzled gas. Now THAT is unacceptable in the US. |

The US is the UN. rofl We need to start a transition period soon, since the window of oil usability is closing and it'll take a lot of oil to create a new fuel. Oil Companies can technically rule the world if they wanted to, on account they control the energy supply. In fact, they might do. Sadly, I'm not sure if you can fight da powah unless goverments take out CEOs of oil companies, and even then, that might be impossible due to lobbyists giving them election monies for elections.
