I've been keeping this in for a long time. I have a problem with one of the board members' images. In light of recent events involving a certain strobing image in signatures, I decided to speak up to hopefully have something done about it. It is a painful reminder to me about certain things that happened to my family and why. As you guys know, my grandfather was murdered by petty thieves back in 2006. As far as we know, the guys are still at large and as of yet unidentified. In and around the apartment were found small traces of THC, the active ingredient in cannabis. They were residual amounts, left behind by contact with the carpeting and the other surfaces that the perps may have touched. The general conclusion thus was that the motive behind the robbery of my grandparents is that these idiots were after money to get their drug fix and they thought an elderly couple with a small business were a good target for getting that income. I have always been against weed, but now the mere mention of it makes me virulently loathsome of it. Having to see that flaming pot leaf every day on the forum is a fresh stab in the eye each time. Hakado, please make this easy on everyone and take down your avatar. Thanks. |

Brilliant post, Soja. I too, have been irked by Hakado's avatar, but I was simply hoping that he would realize the immaturity of his ways and drop it. Cannabis is an illegal drug, and glorifying it like he does is simply not American. In addition, the avatar may place a bad influence on the board's younger members (like HI_alchemist) and lead them down a long, dark, path of life. We wouldn't want more cold killers like those who murdered Soja's grandfather, now would we? |

I earnestly support my good friend Soja's view on this issue. Hakado, you are promoting a negative thing to a positive forum. This cannot be taken lightly. Your immaturity strikes me as disgusting, immoral, and unethical. Not everyone on this forum supports such behavior, and not everyone wants to smoke those materials like you do (or are supporting, to some extent). Allow me to further explain why I do not approve of your avatar: -Smoking of cannabis is the most harmful method of consumption, since combustion of material and inhalation of smoke in itself from organic materials such as tobacco, wood, gasoline and cannabis causes various health problems. -A recent study by the Canadian government found cannabis smoke contained more toxic substances than tobacco smoke. -Cannabis use has been linked to exacerbating the effects of depression, psychosis, schizophrenia, bronchitis, and emphysema by several peer-reviewed studies for those who are vulnerable to such illnesses based on personal or family history. I cannot believe you support such treacherous things, Hakado. Do us a favor, no, do us a service, and remove your illicit avatar. Soja lost his grandfather due to people using a related drug. You still want him to grieve such a loss? Cannabis is an illegal drug as well, as Phil pointed out. You are promoting the younger and less knowledgeable members of this board to go out and...."try it". Why you would want to condone such behavior is beyond me, but I assure you, I will not step down from this stone until something is done about your avatar. I cannot forcefully remove it as I do not see you breaking any forum rules, but I can, and I will, sit here and continue to type in this topic until you succumb to our complaints. |

Hakado's avatar reminds me of one of my good friends who was sent away to Washington because of his addiction. He was a great student, and was a great musician, but the addiction to pot eventually led him down the wrong path. His girlfriend broke up with him, he lost out on leadership positions in band, and he dropped out of this semester. He now has to make up the whole semester on top of going to rehab camp. The burning Cannibis reminds me of my friend, and I just want it down so I can see him in the light the he should be seen in. |

Okay, as legitimate as your concern is, let me counter with one simple point. I'm Dutch. Cannabis is in no way illegal here, and I'm not glorifying it, it's merely a cool image in my eyes. I can understand why you'd ask it, but I have one question I hope you'll forgive me: Is this a serious request, or a reaction to my actions with regards to StrobeNigga? If it's serious, I'll take it down, though I'd wished you'd contacted me personally, if it offends anyone in a serious manner, I would've taken it down before. The only side remark I'd like to place on this is that you shouldnt inforce america's laws, namely weed being illegal, on others. For dutchies, weed holds no harm, so atleast believe me when I say I didnt mean harm by my avvie, to me, it means nothing. |

I agree with almost everything said. Only thing I have a slight problem with is:Not everyone here is American, that's all. People in my class used to smoke weed and stuff and it fucked them up till they managed to get off the stuff. I still have a friend who smokes it regularly, and he's a nice guy. All it does is give you a high in exchange for your health. :| |
