I've failed to come up with something witty, so I hope you will enjoy this filler text instead.

We have something like this on LotE, where I usually play mafia. Basically it's a place for dead people to be like ''Fuck that mafia/vigilante/something.'' They can also discuss things without giving any clues. Example: ''Wow, it's so obvious who the mafia is to me, yet nobody is doing anything.'' ''Yeah, those cits are freaking morons. :NomNomNom:'' I dunno how you people like the idea of this, it's just useful if dead or not-playing people want to discuss the game a bit, too. And more importantly, it prevents cluttering the main topic, like me and Simon's little discussion just did. |

I can insult everyone. The living, 'cause I'm not limited by them, and the dead, 'cause I'm not limited like them Or put more frankly, The living, 'cause I ain't one of them, and the dead, 'cause I ain't one of them |

Mafia people going after me first made me sad. Oh yeah. Double-lynching is broken as hell. |

No, it's not. It has just as much a chance as coming back and biting the citizens in the ass as it does of working to shut down the Mafia -- see, for instance, the first night, where the Bodyguard and an ordinary citizen were the victims of the double-lynch. It's the ultimate risk-reward, and as the first night shows, it's not something to be frivolously thrown around. The original thought was that early in the game it was something to be used to gain ground, but when you factor in that, potentially, the citizens could kill off the Detective and the Bodyguard at once, double-lynching is obviously shown to be something that shouldn't just be used every turn. The only way it could be broken is if the citizens consistently double-lynch the Mafia members. And for that to happen, you have to have both particularly good deduction by the citizens and carelessness by the Mafia in concealing its members' identities. |

Double lynching is great and full of lulz. I approve of the procedure and hope it happens again in the near future. |

Well, from the sounds of it, you'll be meeting two of your own following the next double-lynching. |

You could possibly wipe out half or more of the mafia with a single double lynching. It just seems kinda gay to me. |

Yes, a successful double-lynching hurts the Mafia a hell of a lot more than a failed double-lynching hurts the citizenry. But it's simply because this is the case that double-lynching's odds are balanced; it hurts the Mafia more because they are fewer in number than the citizenry. Thus, while they are hurt more by a successful double-lynching, the odds of a successful double-lynching are lower than the odds of a failed double-lynching -- the odds, of course, are proportional to the disparity in size between the Mafia and the citizenry. So if the Mafia were 40% of the population and the citizenry were 60%, then the Mafia would be less affected than in this case (where it's about 25/75), but they would also be more likely to be hit. In the end, all double-lynching does is speed up the game by killing off people faster -- for better or worse. That is up to the citizens. And, less directly, to the Mafia, by disguising themselves and dissuading the citizens. |

Thats assuming that mafia are just as likely to be lynched as citizens are. Which isn't necessarily true, especially when clues are given out. |
