As those of you who pay attention to the RPG know it has been dieing down lately due to lack of interest and lack of motivation to run it. You know, like with most things around here lately. In spite of that the RPG Staff has been working hard to revive the game for one last final push to the end. One grand finally battle to end the game. However at the same time there was discussion for a possible second RPG to take its place. One that would appeal to player involvement more than the current one does (or doesn't). But I have to ask. Do the members want this? Will they want a second RPG to participate in if such a thing is created? There has been some staff discussion on the matter lately and it was suggested that it be brought to the members attention. So yeah, post your thoughts. ~ Kovu |

I think its a flawed idea that people can only work on the RPG, or if they are working on the RPG, they are obviously willing to work on something else. I think the RPG has always been a staple part of FEFF, and there has always been a group of members interested in it. With changes to optimize the RPG in terms of manpower required, and more member involvement, I think RPG 2 would be good. However, removing it without anything to take its place would be a huge blow to the forum. So yes, gogo RPG 2. |

RPG with more player involvment sounds like a good idea imo. however, the drawback of such a RPG is that is will require the players to participate more. and when a player is gone for a long time it slows things down. more player involvement sounds like a good isea in theory, but realistically the way we have it is probably best. its not too hard to keep the game functioning when some people are gone for weeks at a time. |

Basically, I like the idea of adding more player involvement... since players feel more involved in both their characters and the Rpg in it's entirety. But the catch to that is as Shinobi said, member inactivity. If we build a system that either others can take the role of that player to keep things moving, OR we find a way to combine player involvement and yet not being (too) reliant on players, then it could work. That isnt going to be a easy balance to find, however. |

With an average posts per day count of 0, and 5 posts in total, I honestly would spend a lot more time on this forum if I were involved in something like this. ...The vote seems unanimous. |

A battle simulator might help with our judging problem and people wouldn't even need to calculate battle stats, just make a code and keep it updated and the sim'll do the rest. That way all the judges would need to do is maps. And maybe add in a little more actual role playing in there. XP |

We tried something like that once, calculators. The issue with that is that battle stats will have to be updated every time a battle takes place. Rolling the RNs is the easy part, but the only part such a tool will speed up. However, there's a part of the new game where an automated function like that could be of use. Good suggestion. ![]() As for RPs-- I was thinking of seeing the RP directly intertwined with at least part of the game so that it's basically a requirement for a certain area of the game. An RP-RPG hybrid, if you will. However for those who simply like the number grinding without all of the fluff there's another area of the game that will appeal to them too. ~ Kovu |

Updating a code isn't that hard. And the only reason it really needs to be updated every battle is for exp/wexp. Which we can just add up all together ourselves and give them their level ups at the end of the chapter/map. |

More player involvement = individuals running themselves. Individuals running themselves = never a time of day where everyone's around and willing to make any notable progress. If you want something that involves participants, something FE styled isn't it. |

Psio's right. It's a good idea and all but, with FETO being a much faster, working version of our RPG with a few differences, I'm pretty sure a new RPG thats similiar to the last won't work. Try something new. I'm all for helping you guys out with an RPG. Infact, I tried getting more involved in the RPG by creating my own guild with my friends but that just sort of died out in the end with how long it took for things to get done. |

It's also funny because the members will cry "more involvement" all the time and when you give it to em, and they realize it takes a little effort on their part, they end up not liking what they asked for. |
