Finally, a mode of playing this game that is challenging!

Every single enemy is stronger than Jeigan in the beginning, lmao. Too good. The game forces you to camp like a pussy a lot. The Chapter 2 boss is so powerful that hitting him once with all of my units wouldn't have killed him and he one-rounded several of them, so I had to camp him until his Hand Axe broke. I don't even see how we can debate this game in hard mode if you have to do shit like that just to advance. Jeigan was actually a godsend this time. Most of the characters suck, and even the good ones have growths like 40%/30% everywhere instead of the 50%+ growths commonly found in the modern FE games.

Btw, I started the game last night on this mode (first time playing it) and stayed up all night without sleeping and got to Chapter 9. The hardest chapters were the first three because you can't blockade Pirates. After that, actual skill at the game mattered because strategy could be applied.

Considering you couldn't blockade at all due to pirates just walking across water like it was nothing...a lot of luck was involved due to the forced clusterfucks. Unless you camped sooooo hard that you baited enemies in a way to make the least amount attack you, which is kinda impossible in the first chapter... :(

Yeah, and what's worse is that the boss in that chapter CAN MOVE!

This mode allows for an aggressive (which is how I prefer to play FE) approach in the opener as long as you can get Doga/Draug and Jeigan to act as the main damage sponges on the pirates' turn. By chapter 9, though, you aren't doing yourself any favors pitting knights or generals against the mass pirates.

Are you still fielding Jeigan as a close combatant? Then you can probably stomach experimenting with other trash at that like Daros (tbqh, reclassing him to mercenary isn't going to help much). Severe Dorcas-ish AS deficiency not only means you're going to be very crap at killing without a lot of work, luck and a couple of speedwings, it's like a kiss of death in this mode with regards to viable survivability on the front lines.

:ermm: ......No, Gazzak stays put. This isn't like a lot of the other games. Only the following enemy leaders move IIRC:

Shozen (mamkute)
Himmler (paladin)
Camus
Garnef

He is likely referring to how the boss jumps back on the gate on turn 1. Still doesn't really strike me as moving, it's like saying Carlyle moves in FE8 when he just gets his bum on the throne after Ismaire is taken hostage.

@Former Guest: Sorry, I only use top tier, so I ain't experimenting with shit. Even though Jeigan is my favourite character, I stopped using him once I had a solid team in place...which is after Hardain's group joined.

His first and only level-up was HP, Str, Skl, Lck. Maybe it was a sign to keep using him!

Wendell for God Tier!!! It's Chapter 24 right now for me and I'm still using him!!!
