Since winning with top tiers was hard, I figured winning with crappy characters would be impossible and fun.

Exceptions:
Marth - needed to seize stuff and damage Medeus.
Sheeda - recruits characters and is Marth's lover (totally legit reason!).
Julian - a thief is needed and I'd rather use the one that can take at least one hit and do at least 1 damage, and his combat suckage makes him pretty low tier anyways.
Rena - Hammerne staff and a healer is needed to be able to win, and her fail combat stats make her not that good or broken at all for this.
Merric and Linda - Both start off terrible, especially Linda, and I need magic users to be able to defeat Gharnef and survive the later chapters.
Tiki - similar reasons to both Marth and Merric/Linda; I think she's necessary to clear the last few chapters which this type of team, and she starts off getting one-rounded anyways and always has horrible attack range.

For the first few, I used a lot of Jeigan, Marth, and Sheeda. I used Gordin, Draug, and random horrible characters like Cord, Bord, Vyland, Matthis, etc. until I got a real team. I have made it pretty far with tons of camping and bottlenecking.

My current team in Chapter 22:

Marth - level 27 Lord.
Sheeda - level 14 Paladin.
Jeigan - level 15 Dracoknight.
Rena level 14 Sage.
Merric - level 13 Sage.
George - level 10 Sniper (8 str ftw).
Minerva - level 14 Dracoknight.
Linda - level 11 Sage.
Midia - level 13 Dracoknight.
Astoria - level 12 Hero.
Wendell - level 14 Sage.
Tiki - level 6 Manakete.
Beck - level 15 Ballistician.
Maria - level 3 Bishop.
Arran - level 11 Paladin.
Julian - level 11 Thief.

Jeigan's stats, no stat boosters:
HP: 27
Str: 13
Mag: 1
Skl: 17
Spd: 14
Lck: 9
Def: 15
Res: 4

Miracle Jeigan! He's gained at least 3 stats every time!

I made doing this all possible by reclassing into the best classes possible often. For instance, Jeigan benefits a lot more from the +1 Str, +2 Def, and Axes than he does from +2 HP, +3 Res, and Swords. Axes let him fight in the lategame and do damage with Silver Axes and Hammers and shit. He also recieved a slight boost to his Spd growth, which helped him not get doubled for the whole game. Getting Poleaxes and other good shit from the online shop also helped a lot. Since George is my only bow user, having him use up all the Silver Bows was no problem at all and he actually has been doing damage and one-shotting fliers with Silver/Parthia. Midia is actually turning out kinda fast with 18 Spd at level 13 because of her getting a Spd growth boost, and that coupled with +1 Str and +2 Def as a Dracoknight made her actually usable. I keep her and Astoria together and have been using supports a lot between other units, like Minerva and Maria. Minerva has Hauteclere, Sheeda has Gradivus, Astoria has Mercurius, Linda has Aura, Merric has Excalibur, and George has Parthia. Abusing all of the legendary shit and just repairing later with Rena has been really helpful.

Shit god damn piss fuck this shit is hard...

Well, it's not that hard...

Jeigan is rapetastic early on. Marth gets power-leveled because he's one of the few units on the field, so got to use Marth as an actual tank quite early. Sheeda as a Paladin is incredible because she gets +2 Spd over her Dracoknight self and her Spd growth gets nerfed in favour of Str, which is very good for her. She also loses the weakness to bows, and then she can tank. Jeigan actually stayed decent due to being a Dracoknight, and Minerva is actually turning out to be useful for me. Wendell makes the first ten chapters after he joins much easier. After a big period of sucking a lot, Merric and Linda are raping.

Yeah, it's still a bitch because even my "good" characters have big flaws, like Marth being nearly maxed out and being locked to swords and Linda and Rena having no durability. Sheeda and Merric are most certainly my best characters...and one has no Atk and the other isn't durable at all. :(
