They didn't alter the prepromoted characters to make sense with the increased caps. Astoria starting with 8 Str when every cap was 20 wasn't so bad. Astoria starting with 8 Str when the cap is 25 and the other characters have 15+ Str when he joins, however, makes him pretty useless. Well, actually, I think Astoria is one of the best prepromoted characters, which is pretty sad... If they took Astoria and made him look like this: HP: 35 Str: 13 Mag: 2 Skl: 17 Spd: 16 Lck: 8 Def: 11 Res: 5 He'd still be inferior like prepromoted units are generally supposed to be, but he'd actually be usable. I mean, he's one of the strongest characters in the story, lmao... He can keep his growths he already has, but give him like a 5%-10% in Res/Mag since the 0% in Res/Mag everyone has is stupid. This game could have easily been the best one in the entire series if they fixed the bases/growths of a lot of characters and included supports. Jeigan should have been like FE 7 Marcus... Oh, hell, he could have been worse and he would have at least been usable. Making soooo many characters not even usable was stupid. He's what I would have done with Jeigan, in order to make him usable, actually strong in the earlygame, but not an Oifaye/Titania/Seth type (those are stupid and make FE too easy): HP: 32 (65%) Str: 12 (35%) Mag: 5 (25%) Skl: 15 (60% Spd: 11 (30% Lck: 5 (25%) Def: 10 (25%) Res: 8 (40%) He's still way worse than the other Cavaliers, but he's usable, and actually powerful for the first few chapters.
