Alot of laptops have a integrated video card... so if that's the case, yeah youre fucked, rofl. Most of a laptop's insides are 'risky', so it's never really a safe thing to replace stuff. |

...... Ok..... e___e aside from the brain sex.... I havent heard about buggy HPs but whenever I ask about the HP laptops at Best Buy, they always say they're more media freindly and not super hardcore. I wonder if they're sugar-coating their descriptions of that brand.... .I look at the HP stuff and their laptops look kinda cheap. Not like bootleg or bootsy or anything but I don't like the plastic they use and the keys feel a bit wierd. I never really look at their desktops so I dunno much about those. I LOVE the keys on my laptop and no sir it does not feel cheap at all <3. Also, what's wrong with VAIOs? |

HAHAHA. Oh, I love you Bosco. Why did you get banned again? So many wasted years... Anyway. Best Buy employees usually know shit about the computers they're selling. Your best bet is to go through and look at the specification tags on the computers yourself. That or write down the models and get on the Internet and look at independent reviews. What's wrong with a VAIO? It's by Sony, that's what. My father had a couple, and then Crysta had one, and they all ran like SHIT. This was after about a year's worth of usage, mind you. Granted, I take nearly obsessive care of my computers, so... I don't know. My computer probably has a weaker chipset than yours, come to think of it. Still, it plays older games decently. It certainly won't be able to run, oh, EVE Online or Starcraft 2, but it does well with Guild Wars and Command & Conquer Generals. So it depends on what kind of gaming you want to do. |

oh yaah I still need to check out the requirements for Guild wars. I already know what good specs are and I know mine are pretty good (except for the graphics card) but I really ask about the brand. I know some Dells have good specs but I also hear they're notorious for overheating rather quickly and burning peoples' laps. I also hear Toshibas are poorly put together and use crappy plastics and jank ass keys. Thats all I need the best buy people for. but hey I love Sony :/ All my every day tech is made by sony. TV, New Tv, Psp, Ps2, Laptop, Camera, Ipod Dock/Speakers, memory sticks, CDs, DVD player, Blu-Ray player, Alarm, Car stereo.....all of 'em work great..... :p I liek sony. haha |

Heres your biggest problem here: Your looking for a LAPTOP to play Games on. This is your biggest mistake, laptops aren't designed to play Games, they're designed for mobile work. If you want to play games, I suggest you go out and buy a PC. However, as silly as a gaming laptop is, two of my college friends have two powerful laptops for gaming. One of them has a Dell XPS which got stolen on him, but his insurance with Dell paid off so he got a replacement. From what I've heard, it's a great machine, it'll set you back about 1k - 1.5k. His has a 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery or somesuch, so he gets about 16 hours of battery life, iunno. Other friend, spend 2.4k on his laptop, and it's pretty much just a tank. He even went out and bought a small ePC because the one he bought for gaming was too heavy to carry around. It's running SLI Graphics Cards, and has shiny interchangable LED lights on the front and lights up like a discoball. Yeah, go get an XPS, they're cheaper than the portable desktop laptop my friend got, and they're actually rather light. They'll do just fine for gaming. Or just buy a nice PC that'll set you back less and be more powerful, on the plus side, you can be guaranteed you can upgrade it in th e future, since upgrading PC towers is much cheaper. |

Dude, you paid a grand and a half? No offense, but you're a dumbass. You pretty much paid for a $ony laptop that can do everything a $600 Dell laptop can and little more, if any. If you want moar for your money, you're better off returning that computer and putting the money towards said XPS or some other system. I saw one that would be nice for gaming from ASUS a while back. |

well comparing the XPS I would get and my laptop, the prices arent too far off. The only thing is that the XPS has a better graphics card but my laptop has better resolution, full HD 1080p, better processor, and exceeds the dells wrranty by 2 more years. The XPS doesn't even come with Microsoft home Office and Student. :/ I think If I added everything I got that came with my Vaio that doesn't originally come with the XPS, then I would have paid only a couple hundred dollars more for the Vaio. ...ofcourse the Vaio with the much better graphics card is the same price as mine but I had bad timing... |

Uh no. You see your a dumbass for even thinking about shit like Microsoft Office. Download OpenOffice, it's a freeware version of the Microsoft Office programs. Fuck Full HD 1080p, when are you ever going to use that if your running off onboard graphics? Processor is probably worse, judging from your experience with computers from paying 1.5k for a Sony. |
