To ensure that battles run as smoothly and spam-free as possibly, we have a fairly strict battle procedure. It may look a little lengthy at a glance, but most of it is just making sure you provide the right information before the battle begins.
- Country vs Country Battles
-
Step 1: Starting the battle (Note, if this information is settled in the Battle set-up topic, move to step 2.) - Once you have an opponent, one of the country leaders should create a topic in "The Pit" forum. Please include the country names in either the title or subtitle of the topic. This first post should include: * Which country you are fighting. * What territory you’re fighting over. * A link to your country's sign-up/information topic with members stats, items, etc. * The terms of the battle - what the winning conditions are. (Ex: capture the throne, defeat the leader, etc.) - The other country’s leader must then post their team’s stats and items in the topic. (Again they can link to a topic with their stats if they have one).
Step 2: Wait for a judge’s verification -A judge will look over both country stats to make sure everything is right. If there is a problem, they will PM you so you can fix it. Once everything is set the judge will make a post, which will contain: * The map. * All unit’s HP, equipped items, and experience gained. * Whose turn it is. - This one post will be updated to keep track of the above.
Step 3: Place your units - Before the battle can start, each country will have to place their units. A judge may have the possible starting positions on the map in advance, but if they don't try not place your units crazily. - Each leader should make a post saying where they want their units to start. - If there is no preference as to who goes first, the first country to post their starting positions will get the first turn.
Step 4: Fight - Once units are placed, the fight will start (finally). - In a turn, the country leader will declare moves, fights, trades, etc. like in the games. Moves should be discussed in your country forum so that the leader can put the entire move in one post. If you want to designate a "tactician" who can post moves instead of, or in addition to, the country leader, you may do so. - Judges will post the results of battles in replies, but any status/health changes and experience gained will be kept track of in the judge’s first post. - It is recommended that you move as many of your people as you can in a single post, but if you want to wait for the results of a battle or something before finishing your move, that’s okay. Just be sure to note that your turn is not done. - If you want to see the “Hit, Damage, Critical %” info for any battles and don’t have access to a battle calculator, ask the judge. - If you like to add a little bit of role playing into you moves feel free to do so. For example you could do something like this: (Ex: Bob moves to E4 and attacks Jim with his Iron Sword. "I'm gonna rip you to shreds Jim!" Bob shouts as he slashes.) RPing will have NO EFFECT on the battle; it can just make it more interesting. - Country take turns until the victory conditions are met, at which time the battle ends. Any changes in experience, weapon usage, gold, etc. should be made in both teams sign-up/information topics. -You have 3 days to make a move (3 days, starting from when the judging phase ends, and your turn starts), before you may be skipped by the other side.
- Quest Battles
-
Step 1: Starting the battle (Note, if this information is settled in the Battle set-up topic, move to step 2.) - A Quest Battle will have a set-up topic posted in "The Pit" subforum. - This topic will contain a description of what the Quest is, the map to be used, any starting enemy information, and any restrictions on joining the battle. - Players who meet the requirements to join may sign up.
Step 2: Wait for a judge’s verification - A judge will look over who has signed up, and verify that everyone has met the requirements. - Once everything is set the judge will make a post, which will contain: * The map. * All unit’s HP, equipped items, and experience gained. * Whose turn it is. - This one post will be updated to keep track of the above.
Step 3: Place your units - Before the battle can start, each player will have to place their units. A judge may have the possible starting positions on the map in advance, but if they don't try not place your units crazily. - If there is no preference as to who goes first, the first player to post their starting positions will get the first turn.
Step 4: Fight - Once units are placed, the fight will start (finally). - In a turn, the each player will declare moves, fights, trades, etc. like in the games, for their own units. If you want to designate a "tactician" who can post moves instead of, or in addition t yourself, you may do so. However, the player must explicitly note this in topic. - Players take turns until the victory conditions are met, at which time the battle ends. Any changes in experience, weapon usage, gold, etc. should be made in the player's respective signup topics. -In Quest Battles, you have a 1 day limit before you may be skipped by the next person in order.
- Revolution Battles*
-
Step 1: Starting the battle (Note, if this information is settled in the Battle set-up topic, move to step 2.) - Create a topic in "The Pit", declaring the Revolution. - Post which players/units have agreed to fight in the Revolution on your side. - The defending country leader must then post which players/units will be fighting with him. Any player/unit who has not joined the Rebellion may be selected by the country leader, unless they say otherwise.
Step 2: Wait for a judge’s verification -A judge will look over both faction's stats to make sure everything is right. If there is a problem, they will PM you so you can fix it. Once everything is set the judge will make a post, which will contain: * The map. * All unit’s HP, equipped items, and experience gained. * Whose turn it is. - This one post will be updated to keep track of the above.
Step 3: Place your units - Before the battle can start, each faction will have to place their units. A judge may have the possible starting positions on the map in advance, but if they don't try not place your units crazily. - Each leader should make a post saying where they want their units to start. - If there is no preference as to who goes first, the first faction to post their starting positions will get the first turn.
Step 4: Fight - Once units are placed, the fight will start (finally). - In a turn, the faction leader will declare moves, fights, trades, etc. like in the games. - Factions take turns until the victory conditions are met, at which time the battle ends. Any changes in experience, weapon usage, gold, etc. should be made in both teams sign-up/information topics. - If the Defending Country Leader loses the battle, he becomes an ordinary citizen, and the Rebellion's Leader becomes the new Country Leader. -The turn limit for Revolution Battles is the same as Country Battles; 3 days.
*Note: For any Revolution, there will only be one battle for the Crown. The Leader Country leader must fight in the Revolution Battle, otherwise he will forfeit his crown automatically. In the event of a country having Co-Leaders, the same principle applies. The Co-Leaders must both fight in the battle, otherwise they will forfeit the crown automatically.
The same does not apply to Second-in-Commands, or Third-in-Commands. They are not forced to fight in a Revolution Battle. However, if they choose not to participate, and the Country Leader loses, they also will lose their positions as SiC or TiC.
There will also be a one-month "Reconstruction" Period in between every Revolution Battle in a country. This means that after a Revolution Battle is fought, the Country must wait one month before they have the option of fighting a Revolution again.
